Slightly different fuel relay failure - FYI
I had another thread with this issue as a side note in the thread so thought I'd share this with folks here on a new dedicated thread since I believe the relay problem is more than just a hot weather problem.
First of all, the symptoms. My 2001 CL-s would stall while driving and sometimes restart and sometime it would not. the weather here is cold already so this was not a hot summer issue. Since this was intermittent and seemed to occur while driving and occuring during cold weather, I suspected the fuel pump was bad.
Reading on this forum I understood the relay issue but it seemed to happen in hot weather and I also didn't read about intermittent driving issues with the car stalling (like it was starved for fuel).
So I took it into the service center and they say it is a bad relay. Bummer since if I had heard that the symptoms were closer to my symptoms I would have fixed the relay myself. But now I'm out $275 for a new relay installed but hey, I will have my car back with a new relay.
So I'm posting this to let others know that it is not just a hot weather problem and it can show up while driving as a stall.
