Hey, I spotted a brand new SL55 down here in Miami, top down and all...was I dreamin' or has it already been released in the states?

 

Saw a brand new beautiful black one at the LA's farmers market last week. Nice. Wondered if it was a real SL55 though. Looked like it still needed to be lowere a wee bit.

 

Its been around for a while now in the states/around the world.

 

yup, i know someone who's had one since september. but he said he's the first in western canada to take delivery. super nice car...

 

I saw a gorgous black one w/ 20"s on it in Denver. In black, with the top up, that car is every bit as hot as a 360 IMO...

 

Yeah I see one on my drive to work every once in a while. It's beige w/ beige interior...kinda blah, but hot car none the less. Some older chick drives it to work downtown...wanted to stop her and see if she wanted me as a gigolo.

 

I have seen the SL55 and the S55 (V8 kompressor version) around. The guy from the Ray Milano show... Ray's brother. He has one... saw him driving one a few months ago on the 101 freeway.

 

... that's until the Maybach turns up!!

 

Not to hijack the thread, but I just don't dig the Maybach. Pimp car no doubt, but I'd rather roll in Turbo Bently or better yet, drive myself around in 575M, and buy an S-Class with the spare $$. The Maybach just looks so plan. So does a Rolls, but in a more stately manner IMO....sorry, proceed with the SL55 chat...

 

I saw one with the Brabus kit

 

My oldman ordered an SL55 last week, MSRP (shooting for April/May 2004). I had to call lots of dealers to try and get this car in writing at MSRP. He originally went with an SL500, but the 55 really isn't that much more once you add the Sport package to the 500.

We'll see, he's turning 60 next year.....this is what he wants.

This guy just picked this up like 2 days ago (off the Benz forum), my oldman is getting the 5 star AMGs though (no cost option, the below weels are ugly).

Saw a silver one in PHX over Thanksgiving. Then 2 days later a saw another one on my way to work in Tucson. Tried to get that guys to race me, but he wasn't having it. Guess he figured the CL-S wasn't race worthy, or maybe it was because HE WAS AN OLD MAN!! All the old guys have all the cool toys, and they don't even use then. What a waste.

 

Ive seen 3 cruisin around Miami. I saw a black one at Coconut Grove, one cruisin down South Beach, and another one in Pincrest. They are no doubt pimp cars.

 

Did you mean to say 2003 or is the wait really over a YEAR ???

Sick TypeS.....yeah, he doesn't care if I drive his cars or not when I'm around. I usually don't drive them all that much, he has had an E500 for over a month and I drove it once.

I sat is Warran Sapp's SL55 last week. His car is probably the nicest car I have ever sat in other than a 911 TT. He got his about three months ago. I work for the Bucs and this is the new hottest car that all the players want. One of the other players also picked one up and it was at Racingzone Autohouse in Tampa having some sweet wheels put on.
