I getting 18x7.5 +48 offset rims. I am wondering which is best tire size to get.[list=1][*]225/40 - fellow forum members[*]225/45 - tirerack recommends[*]235/40 - closest to stock wheel specs[/list=1]

 

I selected 235/40-18.

225/40 would give *slightly* better acceleration due to the shorter tire height (in effect, increasing the gear ratio) but at the expense of a slightly harsher ride. The 225/45 would be the opposite (slightly slower than stock acceleration due to the taller tire but cushier ride). The 235/40 is a nice choice in the middle of the two and you'll get a wider gripping tire.

I'm planning on getting some wheels with the same specs you are 18x7.5

I was also debating between 225/40 or 225/45

but I hadn't really considered 235/40 because I was hesitant to put 235 tires on a 7.5" wide wheel..

I'd probably still go with the 225/40 although the 235 would be nice. Either one.

 

I leaning towards 225/45 now. I think the 235 might be just too wide and I do not like how 40's series tire look. But, still contemplating on tire size. I STILL NEED MORE VOTES OR OPINION PLEASE!
