SIXspeed CL

Trying to find out more about 6 Speedz. Looked seriously at the 01 CL when it came out but was put off by the looks and the auto trans. Got the 02 CL brochure in the mail, does not mention a 6 Speed but I've read it's available on the Legend board. Do not want the auto for sure now with the relatively high failure rates. I can live with the CL looks, but I've driven Legend Coupes for 10 years and have been spoiled. Go easy on me people, I'm new here and I am considering a CL if I can really 6-shift it. What are the details on the long awaited stick.

Thanks, I've seen many mentions of it, just puzzled why the official CL brochure doesn't mention it and I didn't se any at the dealer. Was hoping for better color choices in 02, oh well. The dark colors are nice in and out but it's too damm hot where I live for dark colors.

No, I wanted A 6 Speed Legend but looked for months in the used market could not find one. My previous G1 Legend Coupe was a 5 speed shift and I loved it. Still want a 6 Speed G2 Legend Coupe but they are so rare and high mileage usually, plus I have new car fever. Will always love the Legend Coupe, it's been my favorite car. Had a Prelude before the Legends. The CL is loaded with features and tech but to me the Legend has that certain character. Acura/Honda has become kind of corporate styled, no risk. Be nice CLers, I'm just a Legend fan who wants a new 2 door sporty luxy Acura, besides the NSX.
This 02 CL is the first 6 cylinder (non NSX) with a shifter from Honda US in 7 years! It's a big event. I generally hate automatics.

Even though it say's it on the site, the 6 speed is not available for the CL in 2002,and that is why it is not in the book. It may be available in spring 2002 as an early 2003 modle. And also, the CL would not be the first with a shifter, that title would go to the S2000.

Oh, the S2000, right, I should have said 4 seater. Maybe I will look for a 6speed Legend instead (low miles), don't want to wait a year or 2 for a 6 Speed CL. I thought for sure it was sooner. Maybe it's the TL that's getting the shift now? Reading about all the CL rattles and litle quirks, paint, trans, rotors, makes me wonder a little. I want a car made in Japan, my Legends never had squeaks and rattles or so many tweaks to save cost, but they sold for over $40k in 94-95 too!

Nope, the S2000 has a four cylinder. LegendCoupe said it is the first six-cylinder. So, he is right. :p
