Simple answer: Would this work?
I’m no tire expert, but I think 235 would be pushing it on a 7” wide wheel.
235mm is equal to 9.251 inches.
Don’t forget an 18” will have less sidewall then mattg’s 17” wheel.
I have 225/40 on a 7 1/2” wheel and that’s as wide a tire as Falken recommends.
I do plan on replacing them with 235/40 when it’s time because that’s closer to the stock diameter.
Assuming I get the OK from the tire shop.

A stock 215/50/17 has an OD of 25.46”
Your 235/40/17 is only 24.40”
That’s too much for comfort.

225 on 7" is normal... i have 225 on my stock 6.5s... 7" wheels probably can get 235, but the tire will be pulled in causing a buldged look.... it will stop you from curbing your rim, but damaging your tire!!!! I would say 225 not bigger...
