They're "slightly blemished." The cat e-mailed me pics and I couldn't tell where the scratches were. Now, the pic wasn't super-up-close, but it was alright. Plus, I'll scratch 'em here and there, I'm sure. $50 shipped, for the last set with the S.

E-mail Jeff Kuo and tell him Pete from NH sent you. You probably won't get a discount, but it would be cool if he knew people were recommending him.

Bulldog how long ago did you order them? I ordered mine like 2 weeks ago and haven't heard anything yet.

We'd been playing e-mail tag for the last month, or so. He's in Georgia, but I think he keeps rather late hours, so our e-mails were usually a day-or-two off. He e-mailed the pics and when I decided I'd take 'em, it took a few days for us to actually speak on the phone.

Damn, I was going to order those blemished ones! I got some pics and you're right, you can't tell where the scratches are! I had the same thinking as you...that they will eventually get scratches here and there.

My only concern was how well they stuck in 120 degree weather (I live in Arizona).

When I ordered mine, it took 2 weeks for them to get to me. I have the brushed aluminum without the red S and I love them so far. I didn't get the blemished ones...I figure that I might as well start perfect. If you decide to get the "perfect" ones, be sure to tell him that you are a member of the forum and you'll get a discount. No discount on the blemished ones though (at least when I called).

What did you use to stick 'em on? Special adhesive or contact cement-type junk?

Bulldog, they come with double sided 3M tape already on the back. Just peel and press. The tape isn't positioned so that it fits on top of the ridges on the door "step" or in between or anything but they seem to stick and fit just fine.

Cool...glad he got back to you. He seems to be a rather busy cat. I didn't hear from him for like a week-and-a-half at one point, but he got back to me.

Sweet, I'll keep an eye out for it...Thanks, man!

I'm just spenin' like a fiend lately. Just bought a whole bunch of booze to stock up my little bar at home...mmm Captain

Bulldog, you have to tell me (PM is fine) when you are working as a bartender. You said you are working in one of the W towns...Wilmington? My fiance' and I will drop by for a few.

Captains is nice...but I am a Bud man. Simple but it works!

Did you get a look at my sills when we met up at Wangs to do the header install? I think that you did. I'll have to see the ones with the red S to see if I should have gone for those.

You've got PM.

Yeah, I saw your sills...liked 'em, too.

Well, I've had the car 2 years, and started goin' to the track this past August, but Nashua told me about this forum in October, so it's really gotten outta hand since then.

Bulldog nice mod you will not regret the purchase I have people asking me all the time about the sills. Too bad I didn't get the chrome ones with the red S I love those.

Remember to clean the area good with rubbing alcohol to get all oil and dirt out. Then if you want heat the tape up with a blowdryer to get it nice and sticky and make sure they are centered and last but not least take some pics of finished product

Later

Thanks, Lou. I appreciate the advice. Of course, since my girl left, I don't have a hairdryer anymore. Guess I can always buy one...no telling when I'll need it for another mod installation...LOL

I don't have a digital camera yet (gonna "need" one for the track, though ), but I'll scan the pics and post 'em, anyway.

True...I used ammonia to clean off mine. Sorry, the alcohol in my place is for drinking not for cleaning. ;-)

I didn't bother with a hairdrier. I may regret that but I suppose that as long as I don't physically lose the sills I can always re-stick them. Heck, as Bulldog01 will attest to, it has reached "freeze your car off" out here way too often. I have "presed" on my sills at that temp (just to see what happens) and they do sound like Rice Krispies. But so far, no problem.

There was a person that lost one that just "slipped out of the door even though it was closed". Possible I guess but I am skeptical. He was bad mouthing a lot though so keep that in mind.

Take home message...clean the surface WELL! Press and play! Just like Lee Press on Sills! j/k

I just stocked up on the alcohol, too, and it ain't for cleanin', either!

Yeah, it's been colder than...well, colder than F*CK in MA/NH this winter!

Lee Press-on-Sills...you killed it!

Personally, as far as "I'm going to scratch them anyway" mentally, once you have them you don't ever touch them...even with your feet!!!! I wonder if you ever touch that area anyway? Unless you DRAG your foot over that part of the entry way I can't see it being a prob. I may sing a different song later but for now I am glad I got the "perfect" ones. As soon as I scratch them..I'll wish I saved the $20...or maybe it was $15. I got the pics of the "clearance" ones and I couldn't see the scratches through the fuzzy pic from a very low res camera.

apsignworks.

The companies are related, I believe, but Jeff's e-mail is apsignworks.

Anytime.

Just keep in mind that his communications may not be particularly prompt or immediate, but he'll follow through eventually.

Good luck!
