Is this a sign of brakes dying

I've noticed when stepping on the brakes I hear this very very low whining kind of noise. No screeching, no steering wheel vibration. Also I have noticed it seems like it takes a longer distance to stop than I think it should be.
Anyone had this or know what I am talking about ?

Ok. Now what about the stopping distance. Maybe I am just not used to driving a car thats soo heavy. I drove a friends 6 speed and his seemed to stop way quicker than my 01 Auto. Did Acura upgrade the brakes for the 03 6 speed ?

How many miles do you have on your car? It could very well be the pads are worn out.
