Sometimes when i'm driving and there's someone sitting in the front passenger side, the yellow Side air bag light would come on, and then it would turn off after a few seconds. Is there something i need to worry about or is this normal? Has anyone else experienced this before?

 

It's normal....has to do with the way your passenger is sitting. Look in your manual for more details.

 

if they are leaning on or toward the door the sensor will keep the airbag off. It's to prevent the airbag from blowing right into your passenger.

 

If I toss my sun shade on the seat, the metal frame will cause the light to turn on

 

The seat has sensors in it. It the sensors feel weight on them they will deactivate the side airbag so your passenger doesn't get hirt if they were to deploy. Totally normal.

 

yep, same with my back pack. If I toss it to far over towards the door the light comes on.

 

if you lean on the side airbag it lights up... stop letting obese people ride in your car
