Sick of Lossing to...

Porsches and such. I have the header/intake but its just not enough for racing. its great for a quick joy ride but i could use more speed. Im thinkin NOS? 50 shot? any coments or concerns? Does anyone have nos? How much power increase do u think a 50 shot gives?

A 50 shot of NOS will give you approx 50 HP.

That's why they call it a "50 shot".

A simple swap of the jet can increase or decrease the power.

By the way, an extra 50 HP will not put you in the same league as an average Porsche. Maybe a standard Boxster (not the S), but certainly not a 911.

We can blow away Boxsters, and with headers and intake I would think the S also.

I have been kind of tempted to maybe check out NOS but I don't think the transmission would hold out for the time I will own the car.

I dont kno what your talking about Boxsters, just raced one 2 nights ago, he it and i gained on him like a mofo. And that arrogant asshole claimed to win because he started the race, and he was gay. AHHHH, so web, whata you think about the engine, will it get really fucked up w/ a 50 shot. And btw, a regular 911 does 5.0 w/ a pro driving it, the averge "joe" can probaly make it do 5.3. and w/ my headers and what not, im sure im in the high 5's low 6's right?

I know only from what I have heard from friends that use it. They are not really straight forward as to what it will do to the engine and tranny long term. They say with a 50 shot though, as long as you don't spray all the time you will be fine in the long term. Now, again, I need to read up on it before I make any decisions what so ever.

I got on a Boxter S with just the tires and rims (2nd time). It was very close, and I think he would have killed me further up in speed (we went up to about 70). And this wasn't some spit on each other death race. More just some, "check-it-out-fun".

So, I've seen the specs, and I've been in a lot of different cars with manuals with drivers that could double-clutch or shift worth a sh*t...

So, who knows....

(Also, didn't go out and do a concourse inspection for authentic "S" rating...)

BTW -- I wouldn't dream of racing a new 911, forget about it

if i had NOS, i would so have a chance, there only in the 5 range, not even runnin 4's. So whata you guys think about NOS> im think it ould be dope for a while, till u ruin your tranny.

A supercharger/turbocharger would me much more safe/practical/durable if and when they become available. You should really rebuild your tranny too.

You can have the stock tranny rebuilt with a kit from Level 10. The PTS kit is $300. A complete tranny is $2500.

your stock tranny will be fine w/ a 50 shot. No problems at all, it's alot stronger then the accord tranny that has all the problems.

You couldn't be more correct. First off a normal Boxster is a women's porsche. It runs 6.4 seconds 0-60 witha manual Tranny. The CL-S beats that by .1 sec with an automatic and no mods. Once you ad headers to a CL-S I have read and witnessed 5.80-6.0 runs to 60 MPH. The Boxster S however we can not f*ck around with. They run 0-60 in 5.2 Seconds. But then again you need to be a good driver. Most people who drive the Boxster S I will assume drive it in the mid to upper 5's. Also the 50 shopt of Nitrous will run your car in the low 4's but after a while will really fuck up the tranny and engine cause it was not built for that. Use it 10 times if you want just don't exceed that.

Well I guess it depends on the car you have. Speaking to a lot of local mechanics and experts on it they said 10-15 times will show no use of it at all. So if your car is under warranty or something. It also won't effect the engine or tranny much. That has just seemed to be the general answer. If you know different let me know, hell I'd love to use it more.

Well the big deal is Nitrous voids most warranties. So if something were to go wrong lets say with your tranny, and they could see you used Nitrous, they would not fix it under warranty for free. You would have to go out and spend 2-3 Thousand for a new one. If you start using it too much there are a lot of ways to prove it was used. I"m not saying don't use it, shit it works and is fucking awesome. But don't over use it if you still want your warranty to be void.

Tanner at the TL forum has headers, intake, exhaust, VAFC, 50 Shot of NOS...you should talk to him. He also ran a best time of low 14's in the quarter, so I don't know where this low 4's figure is coming from. At best, with 50 shot, I would assume a low 5's figure which will let you run with the big boys until you hit a curve or a turn I guess.

guys as long as you run the car right you will not have to worry about n20. A 50 shot is nothing. NOS even say s you don't even have to change the plugs w/ a 50 shot. If you were going to something like a 150 then you would need to do some motor work, if even that; i've seen stock SI civics run 120's w/ no work at all.


and as far as the tranny goes, you'll be fine!

I'd rather buy a Corvette or Stage three Roush Mustang than use Nitrus. Those cars are in a different class.

Actually you are def correct. The 50 shot would do nothing to your tranny and I still think it would run at least upper 4's but I def could be wrong. The 120 shot would start screwing up your car because it is almost half your HP so your making the tranny shift harder. I know adding a 50 shot in my current car would do nothing and it is only 170HP so I guess I should have said 100+ shots will start messing things up. I do however think if you put a 100+ shot in your CL-S it will get down to the low 4's. Once again I have no proof on this so if anyone knows I would love to know what it will do and also what it does after using it enough times. Adding a 50 shot to my Alero that has mod work done already made it run 5.3 on a GTech but I took it out after 11 uses because I was afraid of something going wrong and not being under warranty.
