Should my girlfriend buy the a new CL?
Hey everyone,
My girlfriend is in the market for a new car. I want her to get the type S, but 30K is too much for a college student.
My question is this,
Are they gonna be changing the body style soon? I dont want her to buy a new car and have it be an obsolete body style in a year or 2.
I saw renditions of the new Accord in MotorTrend and it looks nice. But she needs a car soon. Does anyone know anything about this?
If they still have a lot of 02's left, we are probably gonna go for it over the 03'. How much cheaper do you think we would be able to get an 02' for?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Hello, and welcome, I see that you're new here, but I have to do this.
Sorry... but we're gonna a pic to pass judgement on this issue.
Seriously, the CL would be a great car if she's looking a nice 2 dr coupe. No one is really certain about the new bodystyles that are coming yet.... lots of rumors, nothing definant yet.

By now, you might be able to get as low as 26k for an '02 CL-S. I haven't been shopping, so I don't know what they are going for...You should be able to get an '02 CL-S for 28k max...If you are going to get her an auto, i would go with the '02 and save some cash...if she wants stick, you have no choice...

I am also looking for a cls in the No VA/MD area. I was quoted by a dealer in Laurel for an '03 for 29500, and for a used '02 w/ 4000 miles on it at 32500. I have no idea why an older used one was more that a brand new one, other than the fact that they want to move the new ones. I have read that the new automatic ones are not selling as well as they want. Let me know what you find out because like I said I'm looking to buy real soon. I'm also a college student so I know how money can be tight.

Thats what I thought too because it seems all backasswards. But, in his email response, which btw is the WORST way to deal with car salesman, he specifically asked why I would want an '02 when I could get an '03 for 3 grand less.

These dealers make me laugh sometimes. I sent out a quick email to Rizza Acura in Orland Park the other day asking what the difference would be for an '03 6MT and my '02.
They came back with a price of $33750.00 NON Navi.!!!
There price included some bullshit about a dentgaurd protection plan.
Uh huh...

I'm tempted to call the guy back and ask whats up with that deal bc it really doesnt make anu sense.

For an 03 they have in stock, with your options, I would try for 30200 on the road. Invoice is about $400 more for 2003 than a 2001.
The internet salesperson is usually a new guy.
