Well, if you can't find a ZX-12R.

Lots of great advice in this thread. Take it easy, think twice about buying a new 600 supersport (too much plastic, too expensive to fix for the inevitable first few drops).

The downside is that cars just won't do it for you anymore. With a decent (and lighter) rider on my bike, it will do the quarter mile in 9.8 seconds. For Joe Average like me, 10.4 - 10.5 is a piece of cake. Trap speeds are 145 mph. And twisty roads are so much more fun, more exciting. You can feel the road, feel the wind, feel the machine, every sense is much more involved than sitting in a comfy chair behind a steering wheel. My CL-S (and virtually every other street car), feels slow as a rock and as unwieldy as a barge after hopping off the ZX-12.

The good news is fast bikes are orders of magnitude cheaper than fast cars. Heck, between the Busa and the 12, there aren't any production vehicles less than $200K that can accelerate harder; and any schmo can pick up one of those bikes used for $6K. Enjoy...
