My mom doesn't understand why he doesn't like the idea either. I almost just want to keep the damn car and spend the money.

If I were you my argument to him would be that automatics are not that reliable. Then Id proceed to grenade a few trannies just to prove a point

My brother and I both told him that. His response was get a Toyota, which I kindly reminded him off the accelerator issue. My plan is to fix the tranny, run the ever loving piss out of it, break it again, and see if he listens like, you said.

I sold my 03 CL-S AT after about 3.5 years and got the S2k a bit over a month ago. I love both cars but have no doubt about it, you will sacrifice comfort for handling at speed when going from the CL->S2K. Best thing about the S2k is that it seems fast all the time. I mean doing 40 mph in the S2k seems way faster than 40 in the CL did. I think comfort (suspension, sound insulation, etc) makes drivers numb to the road and their car; which isn't always a good thing.

I didn't read every post but did anyone consider an extended warranty? I called just wondering last year and I got a quote of a little over $100 for my 02' cl with 122k miles on it. The trick is to not take any offer they give you. Act like you can't afford it. The first quote they gave me was about $300.

Other than this, I would just stick with it and if something bad happens just put the repair bill on a credit card and pay it down slowly.

Got the car back today and drove it this evening. Damn it felt good to get back behind the wheel of that thing! From the looks of it I'll be keeping it for a while. I recently got a new job with better pay and more hours so if shit hits the fan, then I'll have money to throw at it. Thanks for all of the advice guys, I appreciate all of the help.
