Should I mod my 3.2cl

Whats up everyone if you havent read im new the the forum, i got an 01 3.2CL i think i mentioned it was an 02 but its an 01, anyhow i know for sure that im putting rims on it probably 20's but aside from that, I was kinda disapointed about the performance of this car compared to my 2002 maxima se, i mean i know i didnt get the type is but this was the right deal at the right time, but trust me who wouldnt prefer a type s right.

Anyway my maxima was stock and was perfect for me i belive great pick up and acceleration, handling and all that, i also think my maxima was more comfortable, but im not tryin to diss the cl i mean ive only had it a whole week so far im sure ill learn to love it, before the max a had a 99 3.0cl which i loved so i sure ill love this one.

any suggestions on how to get better pick up i dont want to have to slam the gas in order to feel the power you know what i mean.

Also can i reset the computer so it can learn my driving style is that possible if so let me know, anyway thanks again guys,

Sure. Why not?

Personally, I would do 19's with a nice drop. Then some headers, intake and exhaust. Then save for a big brake kit.

Trade it back in for a Type-S.

Ya, the type S is completely different than the P. I had a 2000 TL-P and it was a nice highway cruiser. But my CL-S is a completely different beast, once i got some sways, it hugged the road nice and has nice pick up, maybe not as torquey as your Max, but the torque curve is much better over the long run.

You may be a little disappointed with you CL-P.. Good luck

Even though the P has less than the S...you can still mod the crap out of the P just like the S...I have a P and it's modded and can keep up with the S just fine...it definately has more power than a stock WRX in a str8 line. Just the other day a modded WRX tried passing me on Highway 512 in Western Washington and it couldn't pass me.

So why did you switch to the CL? wrecked the max? totalled? stolen? set on fire?

Actually I wanted to buy a brand new car so I sold the maxima thinking i would buy something brand new maybe a g35 coupe then i realized how huge my car payment would be and i just couldnt afford it so by that time my mint maxima was sold and i had to buy something else in the price range, so basically i bought this 01 cl with 31,000 miles for 14 grand thats a pretty decent deal right, anyway that maxima could dip ohwell, maybe ill just put 20;s on it and thats it. thanks

Not really. Not for a CLP. Could have went newer with some more miles & have a Typs S for around $16K.

1) Don't even think about 20s. Get a nice lighweight set of 17s and some high performance tires
2) Headers
3) UR Crank pulley
4) Cold air intake

Ha, let him get some 30lb 20's and lets see how much he is complaining about the pickup after he puts them on.

With Those 20's, it will probably help him get his 0-60 time down to 4.8 - 5.0 seconds flat. You should definitely do it man.

Nothing wrong with the CL-p, still a solid car if you ask me. Although if you were to buy maybe a slightly used ABP CL-s, you would have a better base for modding.

How about giving this a try, NSXNEXT upgraded his TL-p....

was your max a 6-speed? why would you do such a thing ? I was going to switch to a grey lustre 02 6-speed just recently until I found out dealers would only give me $7500 CDN for the 01 CLS as a trade in. So instead I bought new suspension some new irridium plugs, engine mounts, bulbs and going to change the tranny and do the timing belt this or next week and will drive the car for the next 2 years and see what happens.
