Should i do it?
Actually the cl-s would stay in the family. The old man's lease is ending so i would probably let him take over the payments on the cl-s. The thing is the car just came in so i have to make a decision soon however im not an impulsive buyer. Let me know if u think those terms are reasonable.
Well, it depends a lot with the type of lease contract and amount of penalties they may impose at the end of the leaase. Because in 4 yrs you will have paid out 21,888 in payments plus the down payment. And if you decided to walk away after the lease you will not have anything to show for as ownership. Your age may be a factor with the insurance portion of the deal because the car is considered a sports car and the Cl is a coupe.
After four years do you plan to keep the car or just walk away? Because you also have to see what would be your residual value at the end of the term, if you opt to buy the car.
These are some factors that you need to look into before jumping ship.

The only restrictions on the lease as far as i know would be mileage. It would be 12,000 miles a year for 4 years so i could be allowed to put 48,000 on the car. Insurance oddly enough is cheaper than the CL-S but not by much. 1600 a year vs. 15 and change. Oddly enough, state farm clasifies the s2k as a safer car. As far as i know, it doesnt make sense to purchase any leased car at the end of the term. High residuals or not. As far as the term, id probably keep the car three years and try to get out of it early by leasing another honda/acura product(2005 RL maybe?) Let me know if u think this is feasable.
Are we talking just handing the guy $500 (basically first months payment) and driving off or $500 as a cap cost reduction, plus tax, tags.
If only handing him $500 and driving off, then it sounds like a descent deal...maybe $20 bucks a month too high.
But if $500 down as a cap reduction, plus all the other crap...then that lease is a rape.

Very cool car, kind of useless on the practicality standpoint and won't make such a great everyday car if thats what it will serve as.
Yup its pretty much a toy, but at 23 yrs old i dont think practability is an issue for me. In fact the only reason i got the cls over the s2k last may was that i needed a bigger car to do the seven hourcomute back and forth from college however, i grad in june so its almost time to ditch the coupe and have fun in a little 2 seat ragtop.
