Are there any manual transmission cars on the market equipped with navigation systems? Anyways, I'd wait until the 6-speed TL-S comes out. You don't really need to spend $50k or more when you can get a near luxury sedan that will nearly perform as well as those higher-priced cars. If you're not satisfied with it, you can always fix that; spend $15k at MOST on modifications, upcoming supercharger included. And the insurance won't kill you (you mentioned, the M3 and Nissan Z). If what you said was true about kids your age not having expensive type of cars, then the TL-S should suit you just fine.
You are young (younger than me :p) and have $70k in your pocket. I take it that you come from a wealthy and successful family. How they got there, I don't know, but I'm sure they didn't spend everything at once on such an unnecessary thing. If I were you, I'd spend $50k at most on a CAR. If you invest $20k in mutual funds, stocks, CD, etc. I'm pretty sure you'll get a nice return in the next couple of years. (I can only dream of having $20k daytrade in. If I was in your situation, I'd invest in stocks with your $70k all day long and take a couple of classes instead of attending college; but, that's just me). You'll be able to afford a higher-end luxury car, if you even need one at 20 years old.
On the other hand, $70k might be loose change to you. If I had $70k to burn on ONE car, I'd get the CLK55 AMG. Black on black. Sure you won't be able to even hang with modified Supra's and WRX's, but there's ALWAYS someone faster. The Benz is pure class and style Either that car, or a GS430 and modify the crap out of it (with a supercharger and a couple of other mods, you easily have a 12-second luxury car). Or a used NSX. Hope this helps. Good luck!

Shockboltthrower shut the hell up. The person comes on here asking for some honest to good help and somebody like you rips him apart. Not everyone that makes a post like this on here is an 11 year old troll. You have to respect him. You give this forum a bad name, what do you think people coming into Car Talk think of this forum when they see your posts? Ask yourself that. Why do you think some people are embarrassed to put an Acura-CL.com sticker on their CLS? Because when people come her to visit this they automatically affiliate the person with the sticker with this type of behavior. And you demonstrate this horrible behavior.
Yes I agree not to spend it all on a car and to invest a lot of it unless you have your whole future planned out and everything is taken care of. BUT...there's those certain people who live, breath, and sleep cars. This person doesn't seem to be one because most actually boost or work on cars. They don't care how much it depreciates they just love seeing the faces of people they pull up to...and we all dream about that some time or another.
BTW I agree with most of the choices on the board, they all are nice cars. IF you wanted to keep it stock get a new more expensive car. If your into modding get maybe a older or cheaper car so you have money to mod. I personally would get a Viper or NSX. Unless your into the German scene.
Langae are you into IT?

I think you should invest in the stock market. Plus there is nothing wrong with your CL. Your lucky to even own a CL! I know plenty of kids that have to drive around a $6,000 Corolla. Just pocket the money or invest!

Well guys, he has explained it is play money. And you're going to get more play money for basically the rest of your life. Get a Porsche. 70K should get you one. The girls will love you. You'll love the car.

I'm around your age, 16 years old... (don't have NEARLY that much amount of money to work with but still around your age). And I know how we teenagers think. If you get a Benzo or a Bimmer you're just gonna get all upset when you get smoked by a Corvette or a Camaro SS or something. So save some money, buy a Supra Turbo, mod it up, invest the rest. Be happy.

Im not all about speed. If i was, i would get a supra like you said or something like that. Im looking for CLASS, COMFORT, REFINEMENT, EYE CATCHING LOOKS, not all just speed. Im also looking for something fun to drive. I have been also thinking of maybe a 330ci. Its not up there in price, but its an awesome car. my friend has the 330i. I would put rims, hamman or AC body kit on it, DINAN Everything, and pimp it out. But i dunno. Ill keep you all posted i suppose. thanks for the comments and suggestions.

im a little older than you jdtypes, and believe me, we're damn lucky already to own a cl-s. be happy and invest the rest.
but if i had 70k around for a car, i'd get a bmw 330ci or s4. or i would use that money toward a project car like a VW gti or bug.

I can't believe that nobody has suggested the new AMG C32....more power AND torque than the M3...pure pimp, and classy....
should do 0-60 in under 5 seconds without sweating...

Grad School? An 18 year old with the literary skills to give birth to the word “payed”, Preschool would be more appropriate.

hey tim, I guarantee that the C32 will pull better numbers than the M3...that is it's sole purpose for being...
MB is saying times around 5seconds to 60, but they are ALWAYS about ahalf second modest...so I predict this car will hit 60 in about 4.7 seconds flat...

get yourself a nice car. M3, Benz, Buick Century, whatever. don't spend it all. At 18 I wasn't to fond of the stock market. however, at 18 years old, if you were to invest just 8,000 into a Roth IRA you would be a multi-millionare by retirement age. For some people like myself it was hard to come up with 8K but if you have 70 in your pocket it should be no big deal.

You won't be getting the M3 unless you are willing to part with all of your money and then some. First of all, the M3s are all back ordered and you are looking at up to two years on delivery. However, some dealers and others have managed to get their hands on them, but they are going at well over MSRP. An M3 that you build will probably be around $50k. The mark up on these right now? I have seen two at $69k with 200 miles on them. Well, there goes your $70k, not to mention tax, title, and registration. Don't forget insurance. Get a 330ci instead.
Why are you even posting this question on this board? Seems strange.
