I don't know if this is a local promotion or not but I stopped by the Shell at Rand and Lake Cook road in Palatine for a desperation fill up. After I started pumping the 93 octane, a nice lady came up to me and gave me some Shell paperwork touting the benefits of V-power, which is supposed to clean your fuel system (yeah, yeah...).

But in the package were two, $2 off coupons as long as you bought ten gallons or more good to the end of the month of August, and only at that shell station. The pamphlet was professionally done, not a local promo in my opinion. Probably printed by shell.

Gas at this station was pretty reasonable (considering the competition) at $2.10 for premium. So if you buy the ten minimum, your cost per gallon comes out to $1.90. So, ask about this at your local Shell.

Make SURE you tell the camel jockey at the register you have a $2 off coupon BEFORE you pump. Otherwise, you're SOL.

why doesnt sunoco offer ultra 94 anymore?!?! wtf? what ju think is the best gas...
(currently use only Sunoco Ultra 93) and i add an octane booster every other tank

got couple coupons.. the shell where I pump V-power has very competitive prices and the coupons make it a better deal!

I used to love the Sunoco 260. But I haven't seen a Sunoco station in this area in 25 years.

Shell here has 4 cents off all gas Sunday and Monday. $2.00 off 10 gallons is better obviously, but at least it's something. I'll have to stop in and ask if they are running it too.

V-power at my local shell is going for $1.98 a gallon. Here in the state of FL, some stations get involed in no gas tax for the month of aug. The savings = to 8cents a gallon
