Shawn S is Right

Shawn, drove the 6 speed today for the first time. first off i may consider it more and more as time goes on (still have a while left on the lease) the car i drove was anthracite (i liked it) - but remember the post where you said you stalled it, and i said i don't remember stalling a car, - i probably did but its been a while, well the cls clutch is like a light switch or something, i go to pull out - STALL, i'm driving and i switch gears, after releasing pedal i think i left my foot rest on it, car jerks as i let back off - very touchy, after a couple of miles it was ok, but it didn't feel like other manuals i have driven - but i did like the performance of the car in the higher rpm ranges

anyway just wanted to clear that up, very easy to stall on first test drive.

I had the exactly feeling when I drove the prototype a while back. I actually wrote that down as comments when I fill out the survey after the drive.

Guess they didn't listen. Oh well... :o

look at it this way..you'll get used to it, and if some jackass tries to steal it, he won't be going anywhere in a hurry...

Stalling a car when driving it is a sign of a nice tight clutch if you are stalling it because it is catching so quickly and down low.

The thing I really liked about the CL clutch is that it did engage quickly which makes the car feel very fast because there is no lag while you are letting the clutch out. This also allows for very fast launches because it catches so quickly.

I never had more fun than in my old 240SX when I had a new clutch put in. The second I put it into reverse I stalled it b/c the clutch caught almost as soon as I let up on it. This actually allowed me to lay decent rubber on the 1-2 shift in a car that had only 140HP!!!!

The difference between the feel of the car with the new tight clutch was unbelievable--it was so nice and felt so quick.

I hated both the 330 and RSX-S clutches b/c you had to chew on your own knee before the damn things would catch!

acura_service,

I’m glad you now understand my point of view after driving the car.
For the record, I’m loving this car more and more.

I can “STIR EM” like a PRO now and feel WAY more comfortable in the car.
I can find any gear I want without a problem or second thought.

After 260 miles on the clock it’s starting to feel like MY CAR now.
It’s time for the first GAS stop tomorrow. I’m down to a quarter tank.

Totally agree on the clutch action.

Funny, on the test drive I was very aggressive it it felt fine. But after I bought it I stalled it twice because I was driving more carefully. Anyway, I'm getting used to it but really prefer a more traditional clutch action that engages more progressively.

I don't even have 50 miles on it yet so I'm bound to get used to it after a couple hundred.
