Shaving her back?

Got my 01 CL-S a few months ago right before I moved. Now I'm settled in and want to get started on the mods. I've been sweatin' the shaved look for a few weeks now. How do you get the decals off the back? Any instructions? Especially the dealer decal. ANy help is much appreciated.

Get a hair dryer, some floss or fishing string, and some goo gone and you are set

On a similar topic, how do you remove the ACURA badging and how do you replace it after cleaning and waxing the paint beneath?

like stated above, use dental floss and a hair dryer, then goo gone or other such substance to remove the leftover adhesive. as far as replacing it, im not sure too many people have replaced it, most prefer the debadged look. and welcome.

to elaborate a small bit.... heat up the emblems with the hair dryer, then slide the dental floss back and forth behind them once you have warmed the adhesive. they should come right off.

the adhesive can be a bitch, if goo gone and a rag won't get it off, you might want to try scraping it off with a credit card.

then wax the hell out of it when you are done.

dont take off the actual acura 'A' emblem, there are holes behind it.

I don't understand it, I have never seen a dealer do it out here, but you go on the east coast and EVERY car has one. I mean literally, i've NEVER seen a dealer do it out here.

dont use a credit card. it will scratch the finish. Instead use 3M adhesive and tar remover and it will take off any residual glue without hurting your paint.

Welcome ccannizz11, Good to see that there is someone else from MN in here. I just "shaved" the ACURA, and 3.2CL this weekend, but left the "A" and the Type S in the upper corner, looks pretty clean.
Be sure to wax it when you are done to make it look really clean.

What color is your car? For a 2001, you may notice the paint has faded.

I have pics, but with a non-digi camara (yes, they still make those) I'm sure there are many others out there that have done this as well and have pics. Trust me, it looks great! I was thinking about removing the "A" on the back, and taking the Type-S badge and putting it over the two holes left by the "A". But I don't know how well that would work, or if it would look stupid.
I wouldn't worry too much about the fading of your paint, Mine is a 01 as well, and I cannot tell at all where the badges were located. And my car is black. It shouldn't be a problem with your paint. (silver if I remember correctly.)

I think they always do it down here in Miami. Dealer decals, license plate frames, and front plates...it's like part of prepping the car for the customer. I had my dealer remove the decals before I took my CL home though.
