Shaved Doors, DIY?
How hard would it to be to install a shaved door kit myself? So far I've got one quote of 1500 to the whole thing, body work, poppers, etc., but don't feel like paying all that so I though I could cut down some cost by doing part of it myself.
Also, anyone know any good kits? I've heard of AutoLoc and SPAL and heard they're pretty good. Any others I should check out?
And is there anything in particular I nned to know about shaved doors? I plan on hooking up a sepertate cable/button to open the doors in case the battery dies, anything else to watch out for?

ok a few pointers...make sure if its done its done with metal plate over the hole shaved smoothly over and not fiberglass cuz the fiberglass WILL CRACK....and get the strongest popper because weak ones will freeze on u in the cold and will leave u locked out...and the security opener must b carefully chosen for placement cuz some thieves see the shaved doors and look for the opener everywhere....living in jersey/NY especially u gotta watch out for that ive had instances where people have tried to pry open my doors or go through the top of the door where the silver trim is..and a seperate battery for it or a really strong central battery is definitely required...other than that the bitches love it and its fun to watch people search for doorhandles lol

That would be sweet, but How can you DIY? do you have the tools and experience to play with those materials? I think you should invest the $1500 in maybe a molded front skirt one off, and just install versus sides and rear. A kit would be more noticeable. or even a BBK for those warped rotors, or some better springs mthan the comptechs which are about to croak on you. Let me know what your gonna do, and my front lip might be for sale in the near future, that would be sweet, and cover up that crack you got on your lower bumper...
