Sequential Shift

I am on my third week on my CL Type S and I am finally getting adjusted to the feel of the seats. I was wondering if anyone here uses the sequenital shift. I find it interesting but can't imagine ever using it. Also, I noticed that at night when the temp outside is below 70 degrees, the automatic climate control does not respond until I set it to about 87. Than it suddenly begins to blow warm air. I wonder if I have a bad sensor?

i use the sport shift all the time in town. i don't like the car bogging in fifth gear at 40 mph. plus you never know what will pull up while cruizing. i don't know what to say about the climate control.

I use SS all the time. A LOT when mountain driving and also when crusing on a flat straight between 40-50 mph to keep the car in 5th gear.

I use mine a good bit. I've noticed that it will chirp second gear with my 19"s (VSA off) if I use the SS.

I use SS a LOT too.. I keep it in each gear (except 1st - 2nd shift) longer than the auto does, while it hurts fuel economy, the FUN factor can't be beat!

when i first got this car, i would use the SS all the time to stretch the gears longer too. but now i just use it to assist my brakes by engine braking upon quick stops from higher speeds. what a way to aid in kicking my transmission's ass faster!

And your motor mounts! But if you're like me, who cares!

Be a man, use your SS! I wonder if that means my tranny is going, if I can chrip 2nd now, with my 19z on it.

I used SS when test driving the car, not too bad, but I think the G35 sedan in 02 had it a little better. On the TSX loaner cars I definately use SS to get the full power of the 4cyl.

yea your tranny is going cuz i chirped 3rd when my tranny was going lol... not that funny tho but anyway i have 18inch mangel z rated tires and a new tranny and i cant chirp 2nd even with vsa off and i added headers too so yea... my shifts are very smooth now... i suggest just leaving it in drive because you will hurt the engine if you dont down shift in time and just press down on the gas or if you keep it in second and are doing like 40mph its very sensitive so even if you just tap the gas a little the car jerks which means your engine mounts are taking it all and your tranny so i suggest using it when you are passing...keeping a steady speed and want to up shift to save gas or down shift when going uphill to prevent rough up n down shifts...dont be pussy about it it wount kill your car if you dont abuse it.. its there to be used!
