Seatbelt tensioner
Has anyone noticed that if you have your seatbelt on when you shut the car off that it jerks a little bit when you turn off the ignition? What is that?

there is a bulletin for slow retracting safety belts .But to be honest it is not worth the effort .If the belts fail to retract they should be replaced .The slow retracting issue is well known and does not seem to be a cureable thing .Safety belts are warranteed lifetime .

Hey Guys,
The bulletin that's out on the slow seatbelt retracting actually states to clean the seatbelt with alcohol swabs as well as clean the d-ring. What happens is the sweat and dirt acumulates on the belt and when the belt retracts, the dirt will build up on the ring, causing it to become slow when retracting. Best bet, if you are out of warranty, and you don't want to screw with the dealer, is to go to your local drug store and buy some alcohol swabs. Works everytime.

I cleaned and used silicon,,, didn't work,, armoral seems to make it slip better but by the time you put all this junk on there you have a nice stripe on your shirt and the dam this still doesn't work unless it's hand fed.

I have found that the problem is if the belt has a very slight twist in it, it will not retract. If you untwist such that it is going into the feeded straight you will be OK. Of course 85% of the time I get out of the car that twist is there and if I don't notice it I windup closing the door on the seatbelt (it's a design problem that Acura is not doing anything about). YMMV

No worries Stumpy actually the one of the problems with this is that the takeup reel is pretty lame to begin with .there are a few tricks that can be done to it or actually the guides .The other problem is that the webbing on the belts themselves get stiff over time .This makes the job of retracting them even more difficult for an already overworked mechanism.
