do u guys get flashed w/ your HIDS??

i guess theres still some people around that dont know what xenons or hids are but i get alot of people flashing me at night

ever since i lowered my car the visibility of the light wasnt that good so i aimed my xenons up very high so i can see better, ever since then i get flashed soo much, i even get flashed by cars that have hids, and twice in the last week when i was driving behind a car a nite they had to pull over and get behind me because of my blinding lights

does it happen to u guys??

Yeah I did the same thing. After the comptech springs the headlights cut off about 15 feet in front of the car. I way over did it when I aimed them up. I've moved them down and I don't get flashed as much. I'll probably just turn them down a bit more until people stop flashing. It's funny though. In the city I never got flashed only when I go up to my folks out in the sticks.

I have the same problem ... After I got my Teins, I raised the headlights up ... maybe a little too much (although its really not that excessive). I find it really funny when SUVs start highbeaming me ... WTF? You're so high up it shouldn't bother you!!!!

I wonder wth they're thinking when I flash them back

BTW- I've gotten flashed quite a bit before I ever adjusted my headlights and lowered my car.

Must just be dumbasses on the road

Be considerate to others on the road and don't aim it too high. I'll kick your headlights in if they are aimed too high. :p

I get flashed all the time and my car isn't lowered.

Hell, I've never even touched the headlights except to clean them.

After lowering I turned the lights up 1/2 turn on each side that made it alot better.

Hey, we wanna hear it!

I have a couple good stories about this shit. This was back when I had the police intereptor. One guy refused to turn his high beams off after I was in plain view. I flashed him and no change. Dood sped by me at like 70 (sl 40). I slung the car around and zipped back up on his ass, and hit the strobes and flashers. Dood prob was scared shitless. He def was going real slow after that...

One other time I was with my friend in his Dodge 2500, and some asshole in another SUV has his highs on behind us and wouldn't turn that shit off. My friend says find that flashlight in the back. Pulled out one of those 1,000,000,000 candle power wonders, and pointed it right at the guy, and let him have it for like 10 secs. Guy swerved ove the road and back on it and like stopped.

Anyway, enough hijacking. Back to the original thread:

I don't get high beamed in this car yet, but it's a 1st gen CL so no HIDs. I didn't get high beamed in my other car either so

They flash cause they think you already have your highbeams on. They don't think that your lights can get any brighter, so they aren't prepared for the HID hibeams.

I had one fooker that was in front of me on a country road. After about 5 mins, they abruptly pull to the side of the road (one flash of the blinker). Then the old fooker (I got a look at him as I was passing) pulls in behind me and hits his high beams

Bastard thought I was riding him w/ my hi beams on, so he decided to return the favor. I was going to pull over and get behind him again, and show him what HID high beams really look like, but I just hit the highs on and then off and then dropped down a couple of gears and got out of his headlight range quick.

I was laughing for awhile about that one

i'm probably younger then you most of you guys replying to this ..but ..seriously grow up... "flash my brights and really give them something to get mad about" just let shit like that go... you need to adjust your lights so they aren't pointed so high i guess..but you must have already known that.. i get flashed sometimes from people thinking i have my brights on.. i just tap my brights on to let them know they're not my brights....

The one time this happened to me it saved me from a ticket! Then again it was daytime (approaching Dusk) and I didn't have my lights on yet. Some cat high beams me and I think, what the hell??? I slow down a little (I usually take off on this nice straight with a slight bend) and ponder when all of a sudden I see some swine with radar guns pointing at me! as I pass the signal the poor bastard behind me to pullover so dude saved my ass!

When I get highbeamed I either let it go or flash back to let them know I don't have my highs on. I agree that SUVs are the worst.

DarrinB, I think you need to adjust your headlights and be more considerate of others.

The times I've gotten flashed were out in the country--where you don't see many cars with HID headlights and by people in ancient domestic cars (being tactful). But yes, once you flash your high beams at them that takes care of it!

Oops. My bad

I have an ack. Is that what the cool kids call it?

My post should read:

...show him what high beams really look like...

and not

...show him what HID high beams really look like...
