Scraping with Comptech Springs?

I read a post on the Acura-TL.com forum regarding scraping with Comptech Springs. Do you find that you scrape on inclines or decline dips more easily than before? I thought the drop would be so small, that you could pretty much maintain normal road manners.

What I'm concerned about is having to come up my driveway more slowly at the bottom, worrying about bottoming out. I would hate to get springs and have to drive like a $%#@ up my driveway, or scrape up my car all the time entering/exiting parking garages.

Obviously, if I were to get Eibach's Pro-Kit or the like, and perhaps H&R, I may have to worry more regarding bottoming out my spoiler (or plastic guard/deflector under front spoiler). Maybe I won't go over 10 mph speedbumps at 15 mph like I can do now through Chevy Chase, but what limitations have you found since you got your CTs installed??

For those that haven't read my other threads, I'm investigating having CT springs installed during my 30K in the next few weeks-

It all matters. You can scrape stock on big enough inclines/declines. I did. I am lowered now with neuspeed springs and konis at the lowest setting. I have not even a finger gap, but you have to be more careful about where youll drive, and how you drive. There are certain lots/driveways etc., that i will not drive up now. I have scraped, and my lower front is scraped, but not that bad. Our car does have a huge front overhang that is really easy to scrape so just be careful.

I have Comptech springs with stock shocks, wheels and tires on my TL-S. I don't scrape on driveways, parking blocks and speed bumps even when I have 3-4 people in the car. Handling has improved much over stock springs. You will be pleased with your Comptechs if you get them.

I would assume the TL guys are referring to those TLs with Comptech drop and a body kit. I scrape if I try to go up steep driveways. Since I'm assuming your CL does not have a kit, you'll be fine.

All you comments are making me feel good, think I might throw down for the CT springs!!! Thanks for your encouragement, sometimes it's hard to throw down $ if you don't know exactly what the outcome is going to be. But from the sounds of it I shouldn't have any problems. Thanks again!

I only scrape at the end of my steep ass driveway. Other than that I'm fine.

I've only scraped once in 4 months with the CT springs on my cl-s .. and it was a dumb mistake on my part. It was a week after I got em and I pulled into a spot that was downhill .. put the car in park and it lurched forward a bit .. nipped the parking block. Other than that no problems, believe me you won't regret them.

No problems here either with CT springs. I am also used to watching what kind of bumps/inclines I go over due to the fact that I had a 2nd Gen Eclipse (1998) and withouot being lowered, the lower part of the air damn would scrape on fawking everything.in the CL-S I do not have that worry.

Nothing to worry about. the drop is not that much that will cause your car to scrape.

I've got the Comptech drop and have a drive way that's known to scrape with a low car. Zero problems with it so far however.

A-OK.

Thanks again for everyone's response. I'll be taken for a ride in Zigzagzig's CL this week, and if all goes well (like I'm sure it will) I'll have the springs installed during my 30k checkup!
