SC/IC track time
SC/IC track time
here are the stats
- temp was between 85 to 95 degree
- ran with everything in sig including 19's
- 20 minute for cool down between runs
- this was the best times, all the other runs were in the mid to high 13's

comparing myself to how others performed it was pretty good considering the temp was extremely hot. everyone out tonight ran really slow. no stock evo or sti were able to get into the 13's.
the slip was against a modded srt-4 w/ slicks. we talked for a bit and he said he normaly run mid to high 13's on street tires.

i didn't use gate shifting at all this time. just SS and d4 because i was trying to work on my launch. trap is low probably due to the heat. i'll put the stockies on next time to bring the trap up.

i think the IC does post better times but the problem is keeping the fluid cool. when it's in the 90's outside the heat exchange just kept the fluid at about the same temp. if i had ice in the reservior it would of made a big different.

However, having said that... if you DO hit 12's, I'll have to get my butt in gear and head to the track
I think you will, to be honest... and acura-cl.com will be very happy and supportive of your good work

I've got a set of these to help with the launch

If you can muster ~110 mph... 12's is only a matter of traction. I am still real weary about slicks on this setup. Even with a somewhat mild launch... things started breaking the last time I tried a set. The CL-S can hit 12's NA @ 105-106 mph and I think I was pretty close to achieving that at one time... but things obviously did not work out as I had planned. Keep in mind that ~110mph is about 340-350whp with the standard vehicle weight.
Now, if one decides to drastically reduce weight... its much more easily achievable. However this car is a luxury coupe, so it should be fun to do it without gutting the car and making it a race-car!

Good work.
Always brings a grin to my face when a CLS gets to low 13's

Hope you can break into the 12's with good weather and the right tire setup.

Those aren't slicks... they are DOT drag radials... don't you see the three thin treads?

That's my buddy's RSX running 9psi and running low 13s at over 109MPH

Don't feel too bad. Even though I could consistantly hit low to mid 13s before... when it was above 80 the best I could do was 13.7 @ 103.
