Sad Day

The car is so slow now I can barely stand driving it. Although there is one thing I really missed: the sound of a naturally aspirated J32A2. What a sweet sounding engine. With the supercharger all you heard was the mechanical whine.

Oh well... on to better things.

EDIT: Have fun unpacking that thing... it should take you an hour or so. There's about 75 square feet of bubble wrap in there.

I'm sure the other SC'ed and IC'ed TL in florida will get to the 12sec mark way before you do.

Yes I really like the way they redesigned the car for '05... that motor has ridiculous potential. Although I had such a bad experience with the car salesman it totally turned me off to buying a new car.

I've done thousands of dollars worth of business with the service department at Tischer Acura so I told the Internet sales guy that i'm going to shop around and come back with the best price for them to match/beat and that if I do end up buying a new car it would definitely be from Tischer. Basically told him don't waste your time contacting me; you're already got the easy sale. Instead the guy called me every other day for 2 weeks... sometimes twice a day with questions and wondering when I'd be in to check out the new RSX-S. I ended up telling his manager to relay the message that this guy needs to back the fuck off or i'm walking before i even get there. So about 5 days go buy and again he calls and leaves a message. The next day, calls and leaves a message, the third day he calls and I answer and tell him i'm not buying the car but "thank you for your CONSTANT attention."

Instead i'll be buying from a local AZ member and it will be the smoothest automotive sales transaction ever.

I hate pushy salesmen. I had a similar experience and even told the guy that I don't do business that way and if he wanted to loose the sale to keep on pushing. I ended up buying the car over the internet from another dealer.

Glad to hear your staying with a CL-S6 This one will be a slam dunk to build up.

Nope... mine is from a local guy. And a much better deal than that one (although the mileage on that one is sweet!). The one I'm getting has more mods and is thousands less.

Eh... I dunno. I don't think Scalbert's IC kit production run has come to a 100% complete end. Even if he only supplied the wiring harness and the IC itself, I could source everything else needed quite easily.

As an alternative, hopefully Comptech will introduce their IC within a year. I think it's in the plans for the 04/05 TL's. If so, their plan would be to go back and retrofit it to the CL kit.

Really? I had no idea Comptech was developing a TL kit. Is is similar to Scalberts kit? It would have to be.

Oh and they've found Honda motorcycle injectors that flow 410cc that are very very similar to the injectors used in the RSX. I wonder if they'd fit in the J32A2's fuel rails without getting out the dremmel.

Why did you sell the SC if you're getting a 6 speed?

Hope the 6 speed treats you well.

I think they're pretty close on the 04/05 TL SC kit. Once they finish the RSX aftercooler kit, I think they'll move on to an IC for the 04/05 TL SC kit. I'm pretty sure that their IC will sit below the blower in the outlet area and not be a replacement manifold like Scalberts. If it does materialize, it will be a while with the way Comptech develops things so methodically.

That would be pretty interesting on the injectors if they would fit without any machining. I just looked up the fuel rail and they're $42. Might be worth buying to experiment with.

There isn't a whole lot of room in that elbow right after the supercharger though, unlike the RSX/TSX setup where the intake manifold is replaced by the SC and thus allowing for a decent sized core to be installed. The elbow on our cars is maybe 4" x 2". Unless they designed a new elbow for that portion of the SC setup I can't see how they could fit a core in there that would be large enough to be worthwhile yet at the same time not restrict air flow.

Cool, stick to CL-S . This one even better with less drivetrain loss, great response, no tranny issues (just upgrade the clutch) and installed blower

can you think of something else to throw tomatoes at me for...

In all honesty if there were a bunch of local track monkeys around me I would go.

Just not my cup of tea to drive over an hour to the track, pay money to beat on my car, sit there by myself and look bad because I can not get traction....

I agree that there's not a lot of room there. Not sure how big the plenum is below the roots. Time will tell if they are able to come up with a design that will not kill airflow and be significant enough in size. Who knows, it may involve replacing the whole outlet chamber

There definitely is more room left under the hood to fabricate a new outlet chamber.

We've got 3 of us willing to go with Scalbert's kit... I say we give in a month or two and bug him about it again. Deal?
