S60 R....
Went and checked this bad boy out today and was impressed. Never really thought bout gettin a Volvo but i do like this. They had one loaded in the showroom with the body kit and looked real hot, body kit sets it off. Was pricey tho at 47g dont know if its worth that. Interior is plush, felt comfortable in it. Didnt drive it yet but im sure its quick, anyone have times on it?? If i get a new car this might be high on the list if i can get the right price. What u guys think?

Great car for the money, I ordered one and it came in at $43k....but didn't take the car when it came in. The lease absolutely sucked (residual sucked, no program). I didn't feel like buying it due to the fact it was a 1st year Volvo with fancy new technology.
I drove it twice, once at the Volvo event and once at the dealer. Only things I didn't like about it was the weird clutch, bad turning radius, advanced suspension setting isn't as aggressive (imo) as it could be. The car has a bit of turbo lag, but nothing that would prevent me from buying the car.
It bases at around $37k, if you go conservative with the options...the S60R is tough to beat.

Stay or leave
high 40's is a little pricey for a volvo but really this isn't an ordinary volvo. 300 hp, pretty pimp interior, and AWD i believe i mean thats pretty impressive. I would maybe wait a little while and wait for the prices to come down. Oh yea, stock 18's come on man that shit is hot. To bad its a first year and who knows what problems there might be or what changes they will make next year which will make you feel like your version is shit. Oh well, I like it, plus volvo is a safe car. It would definitely be on the top of my list

yea definately pricey but the navi and body kit is what really skyrockets the price, 4gs for both. So without them it be around 42-43gs which is better. Belfed, the salesman even said the leasing sucks right now on them but said theyll probably come down.

An S60R with Premium, Climate, and Touring packages, metallic paint, and the 18" Pegasus rims should cost $42,270. The Sport Package is another $1,995, the Nav is another $1,995, and the GT (auto) tranny is $1,250 - bringing the total to $47,510 (probably what you saw on the floor). The times issue is contentious on the Sweedspeed forum as those with the GT are not happy ... they don't come in under 6 sec for 0-60. The high beams aren't really high beams ... the headlamp assembly effectively swivels from the low beam position to the high beam position (the inboard lamps are DRLs). The suspension issues have been addressed and corrected. The turing radius sucks. The rims are highly susceptible to road rash, and if there is a pothole within 100 miles of where you're driving, the Pirellis will probably bubble just because of proximity. Car is a blast to drive, but too many 1st year problems that have cropped up (2 owners have even had to have new engines brought in from Sweeden because of problems that materialized within the first couple hunderd miles of ownership). Availability is starting to force the dealers to come off of MSRP, since they are starting to stack up. I've heard that availability in NJ is quite good, and there are many dealers there who (reportedly) are starting to deal below MSRP.

currently available on the Silver and Black models, but heard a Titanium has recently been seen at a dealership in Eastern Pa with the kit.

that body kit did wonders for that car! i used to think it was hideous!
but for over 40k..hell no! there's alot of cars i would consider for that price..plus never been a fan of volvo

I thought that the profile with the vaguely Aston Martin-type rims was the hottest shot. Lemme find one.
and shit, while looking at it, the new S40 is pretty impressive. I really like the direction Volvo is heading in. Check this out. Don't mean to thread-jack. Being a web-designer, I think what really hooked me is how well their site was done. Kinda didn't like how it was designed to attract teenagers like flies though, a little more class woulda been great.

the s50r is a really nice vehicle but pretty soon subaru will be debuting a turbo legacy that has very similar performance figures as the volvo....granted the subaru does not come w/a few things such as brembos etc., but in principle they are eerily similar cars IMO
the new legacy should have/offer 4/5s of what the volvo does but at a significantly lower price, plus the reliability should be a bit better on the subie

if you think 47k for a kitted, AWD 300 HP sedan w/ navi and plush interior, and room for turbo upgrades, is a ripoff, then u have MAJOR problems. how is that a bad deal??????????
you pay fucking 47k for a slowass A6 3.0 w/ a few options
