i have a 2003 cls 6mt, just bought it, july 31st. First STICK CAR HEH =) ant uh, well, i was driving down de soto ave (north) to get on the 118 east, and an s2000 pulls up behind me. I casually speed up and get to about 45. He then continues to move to my left and speed up, so i get into 5th gear and we start going man,like, WOT. He pulls a lil forward, but my CLS with 800 miles starts crawlin on him, hah but, i neglect to compensate for the freeway onramp that he is about to take in the outer lane, obviously a better lane to be in if going over 60+, so he takes me, and me being the noob that i am, get into 4th on an onramp that's a hill! after taking like a 90 degree turn ! haha he smoked me after that, but i am sincerely believing it's cuz i suck.

Either case, i love my new car, it's fucking pretty, it handles well, and it's smooth.

You had a "head start", the S2K didnt launch til a second later. At first you had him by 4 carlengths, at the end you had him by 1 carlength.......

Race with someone who knows how to drive an S2K well.

I think it would be tough to beat an S2000 with a CL-S. Unless the driver in the S2000 doesn't really know how to drive well. And there are a lot of S2000 owners out there who don't... From a stop, it'd be easy to get a jump on the S2000, since it's fairly hard to launch correctly. But the S2000 has 9000 rpms to work with. =)

 

I tried to take my friends S2k, and it was pretty even, but he got SC installed today, so I think I won't even bother anymore. That shit is fast.
