S2000

How much does the certified ('01-'03) S2000 cost right now? Does anyone know? My parents (basically my father) are looking into buying an commuter car.
My father is thinking about getting an Civi Si, in my opinion that car looks okay. I'm trying to convince him to get S2000. He made it clear to me that S2000 is bit too expensive to have to just use it as commuter car, which I somewhat agree. However, he is into cars, so if I can find some definite reasons, most likely he'll purchase S2000. So I need help convincing him to purchase S2000.

thanks.

an s2000 is not a good commuter car. that stiff suspension is going to make your dad's chiropractor very rich.

Definately not a good commuter car, unless your in CA and get a convertible, besides that 30k for a new one is a good price. Its very mod friendly and can make it look bad ass. Check out lous thread on buying a s2k

Even thought its going to be my dad's car, but I'm pretty sure my mom is going to use it too. On top of that, I really like S2000 myself, so my plan is this: since mom likes my car alot (TLS), so I was kind of thinking that I could somehow switch the car with my dad through my mom. That's my plan right now, so that being said, what is the best way to get to my dad?

thanks

the car is great for what it is a sports car built for the track. You shouldnt drive it as a daily driver so cause it does get claustophopic after after an hour of driving bumper to bumper

if you just want to do some track racing or run to the supermarket with the top down you cant beat the feeling. Im sorry to admit I owned a 99' white miata before I bought my SI and it was fun but not for daily driving.

not only that but the car sells incredible....and for $29K new that is more reliable than a Civic since its made in Japan

the interior is unparallel when it comes to sporty environment. Tight interior so please dont even think if it as a daily driver unless you drive less than 20 miles to your job and no bumper to bumper traffic.

So how did you like the SI? I think I'm biased, I'm only going by the way they look. I somewhat know the performance/quality of S2000. But I don't know any facts about the SI, so maybe you could fill me in on that?

Thanks

I had the 00' Civic Si and it rocked for a 1.6 lt. the torque sucks balls but it rocked when you wine it up there. The interior is spacious compared to other cars in the same compact size. teh best thing about those car is the engine and tranny the B16 engine is a solid as a rock...only engine better is the b18 adn the one in the s2000 of course you also have the civic type r but since they're only Japan rather not mention them. Integra type R are the most sought after Integra in the market. The Civic Si as a commuter car is great and he should get that IMO the s2000 is weekend only

Yup, you're better off buying a motorcycle and mod it. Anyways, car is not practical. You have to be tiny to fit comfortably.

why don't you go with a new Accord coupe 5 speed 4 cylinder. you'll get great mileage.
I got a 94 Accord EX auto with 250 k on orginal motor i drive a little city plus i drive hard and I still get 25-27 mpg.
Plus with a Accord it's almost a given it will last a long time as long as you like change oil and filters(just basic repairs)
