S/C and equipment

Hey guys i decided to get the supercharger. I just have some questions regarding it. first,what other upgrades do I need for the kit in order to get maxium power from it. I know i need a pulley of somesort and also the E-manegement. please specify exacly what i need. I know ill also need the tranny cooler and the gauges. Am i missing anything? finally what is the mugen thermo fan switch ive heard of it but whats it for. I know some of you guys have that but do i really need it. again im going to go for maximum power output for the S/C so any other goods that i need to get to enhance it, just let me know.
Thanks-

Basic equipment (this is all I have):

* The S/C comes with an icebox
* headers (these will make a huge difference)
* b-pipe
* exhaust

With the above setup, I would guess you should see 265-275 WHP for a 5AT. My 6MT dyno'd at 305 WHP/262 TQ.

HP adders (others have suggested):
* HBP
* Inner-cooler
* E-manage (from what I've heard, this is only necessary if you're going with a HBP and/or inner-cooler)

Not sure how much the adders will give you; but I'm guessing another 20-60 WHP.

BTW - I would recommend doing just the S/C with i/h/b-pipe/e first before adding the other mods.

It really depends on how far you want to take this. With the stock 10.5:1 CR and without cracking open the engine there is a limit to the power we can extract. But if you want to get to that limit there are solutions.

The SC will get you some respectable power and enhances the daily driving experience. From there and at a minimum I would get High Boost Pulley.

Also, being in Florida I would suggest that you do get the Mugen cooling system parts to help with keeping the engine running cooler. They can be purchased from King Motorsports. The parts are not listed under the CL so the correct part numbers to use are below:

http://www.kingmotorsports.com/

THERMOSTAT 19301-XGMR-0000 $69.00
FAN SWITCH 37760-XK5-00N0 $45.00
RADIATOR CAP 19045-XGER-0000 $29.00

As for gauges, they are not necessary. But if you want to keep an eye on things you might want to look into transmission temperature, fuel pressure and boost.

Another performance enhancer is a ported throttle body. I had mine done by King Motorsports last year and was pleased especially considering the price. I'll soon be offering this or a new unit.

The above is outside of the other normally expected item such as headers.

This all should net you about 290 WHP. If this is not enough then you can go further and add the intercooler. The IC will allow you to run more boost, about 8 - 9 PSI which should yield close to 340 WHP on the 5AT. However, to get the fuel in to support that level of intercooled boost you will also need the GReddy E-Manage.

http://www.hopesystemsinc.com/intercooler/IC_Main.asp

That is just about the limit of power through forced induction we can get out of this engine. We can't run anymore boost but I am looking at other ways we may be able to squeeze out a little bit more. That gives an engine power output in the 450 HP range which is significant.

Scalbert, I'm in ATL and all is well. This thing pulls on 75 at 100 +. I step on the gas and it's still goes.

Watch out for the State Patrol, they should be active this weekend.

No the HBP replaces the Alternator pulley while the UR 12v goes on the Crank.

Two seperate pulleys.

Well the HBP will help in that it does raise the boost about 1psi. However now i'm hearing talk that the UR 12v is a waste of money and some S/C Accords are even seeing a decrease in performance with the UR 12v pulley installed.

I'd get the HBP no question about it, however i'd wait on the UR 12v one.

do any customizations need to be made to the throttle body in order for it to work and fit or do you just buy it and install it with the S/C

No, you take yours off, send it to them, they port it and send it back.

If you arn't using a S/C, I recommend porting the inlet to the manifold as well.
