RX-7 TURBO Smoked!!!!NEXT!!!

latest gen rx-7 with a big fart pipe(more on that later)...wide tires,wheels..looked good on the RX though.....first to you flamers...this guy cannot drive...how do you know ???you ask...well he stalled twice at the light when i came up behind him hoping to get it on... schmuck!!! next light he stayed on my rear wheel figured he was emabarassed...but he launched it and got me off the line ...but i reeled him in i think he either sturgled on a shift or thought i wanst comin because as i got along side him the turbo started spooling up again ...almost seemed to me like after first he just let up but then realized i was coming and got back on it right away...the turbo sounded cool right up to the shift and then fart!!! a little back fire once i got back along side i was slowly pulling...not exactlly a conventional race but ,i'll be looking for that guy again to set the record straight once and for all...

haha to set the record? Turbo RX-7 vs. CL Type-S? hahaha no contest... that comparison would never even cross my mind...

the fart sound was probally a blow off valve , which is the coolest sound on earth

no it wasnt a blow off valve it was a back fire it started off scchweeeee...than started the buzzz of the exhaust than the pause of the shift and pop.backfire ...it wasnt to far off from that wav. file that was around a month or two ago...it was hard to tell with this guy it seemed like we were evenly matched but,if he wasnt winding it out and i know those rotory's can wined than maybe there was alot more power there i didnt know about...alot of you guys would say the same thing about the s2000,but they can be beat...even with a half way descent driver...

good job, but here's some reality for you, the rx-7 needs only to remove the catalytic converter to be in the mid 3's in hp. I've worked on rx-7s, for five years now. I love my CL, but you get a good driver behind the wheel, and it will be a different story.
trust me. It maxes at 180, it cruises to 100+, and at has not one, but two turbos coming from a 1.3 LITER! The NSX even has a hard time competing with it.

As a counter point to the doubters, the RX7s are FAMOUS for an apex seal leak, which in the case of a single rotor (earlier rexs) will kill power, and in the case of the dual rotor will just hurt every time that rotor fires.

But a well-maintained or recently re-sealed rex will blow our doors off and ask for an S2000 in change.
