? where did you get this info?

- RSX is reported on the chopping block

- CL.....who knows, acura should come up with something but the bread and butter right now is cross over vehicles and SUVs.

- s2000 might get moved to Acura.....perhaps new coupe is based of the s2k platform?

Don't want no tiny overpriced roadster, want a 2-door luxosport coupe, but you're right, the S2000 should have been an Acura. The Integra/RSX should have been a Honda.

CLX was the CL concept name, now that was a cool looking car.
Bring on a new Acura sport coupe.

Acura seems more and more like a Honda you can get more money for. More expensive lux lines seem to sell better than the near lux line of Acura. I like Acura but without more sales their offerings and options are more limited, than say Toyota or BMW. I applaud Acura for offering what they do at their prices, but it's a tough market. I'd pay a little more for some distinguished styling.

i agree with you all......if i am buying a luxury i want luxury...dont get me wrong the cl is a wonderful luxury but when i tell people i have a acura cl they saw what the hell is that so i just tell them its a fancy accord and they know what im talking about....acura needs to step and create some of their own cars not mdx/piolet tl-cl/accored...ect...........its like r ls400 thats a luxury car and i need not tell people its a fancy toyata.......i do however believe if the next RL is what they say it is it may just start turning around acura...but plus not pass these new technologies into honda's
the new accord had voice acctivated nav. systems before acura's what the hell is up with that!!!!

I definetly agree with you there .. acura\honda is a little fucked up the way they are doing things right now. S2000=HID lights and its a honda. RSX = halogens .. but its the higher class brand? Those two definetly should've been switched around.

And about the accord getting voice activated navi before Acura .. that is also bass ackwards. They should introduce high end things like that in their luxury brand .. who wants to spend for an Acura and have a guy pull up next to him in a Honda with better accessories? And the guages and steering wheel in the 03 accord .. I like them ALOT better than the ones in my 03 CLS!

Yea it's like Hondas are getting too good and Acura is not staying up ahead of them. When most people who are not car nuts ask me what they should get, I usually recommend Hondas over Acura cause most average car buyers don't care or want to spend more than a Civic or Accord. and Hondas are great cars, reliable friendly.
Acura lost it's way 8 years ago in 1996 A.L. (After Legend).

EWW! I don't think it looks that great with the current body style. Maybe if the body was redesigned and it was a convertible hard top ....

BTW, why is the 3.2CL and Type S logo on the drivers side?

the logo is on the driver's side because he reversed the image horizontally, if you look closely at the license plate everything is backwards.

S2000 = $33k......RSX= $25k so yes the S2K gets HIDs......you cant compare the 2 cars regardless of the nameplates................the guages in th 04 Accord look like ass compared to the CL

Discontinue the RSX, bring back the Prelude and make the S2000 a little bigger with a V6 for Acura

TSX = priced close to RSX, and that gets HIDs .. but I see what your saying. the S2k should've been an acura. know what I never understood .. MDX = also no HID's.

you really don't like the guages on the accord? I'd take accord\TSX\04TL guages over mine any day

I totally agree with you. Scrap the RSX, re-introduce the Prelude as a Honda .. make the S2k an acura but I'd keep the 4cyl, maybe just bump up the power a tad more. thats part of its identity. I'm pretty sure the S2k makes the most horsepower per liter of any production car on the road? Although making it Acura and adding luxury features might increase the weight.

Making the S2k an Acura might influence them to keep making RWD's .. that could pave the way for another CL in RWD. and it would offer a luxury sports car alternative to the high priced NSX. Another reason to keep the V6 for the NSX .. if the S2k had a v6 it would probably blow away the nsx.

^slightly larger V6 powered convertible for Acura ... new CL?? that would be sweet if the next gen CL was coupe and convertible. Don't know if I'd want to pay 40-45K for it tho.

Well if VW can make this , then Acura should make a convertible CL. I'd buy one if they did.

Interview with Tom Elliot. They will be slowing down RSX production. They feel that the RSX hurts Acura's lux brand image. I tend to agree alittle. It's not final, just in the planning stages; although I wouldn't be suprised if it happens.

If the Acura version of the S2000 was a S3500 (3.5L V6 w/ a hardtop option) I'd might be interested

I like a little torque down low in the power band, so a 4 cly. doesn't really appeal to me.

I would be nice if Acura would come out w/ a RWD 2+2 coupe. I'll probably keep my CLS for another 2-3 years, so they don't have to rush the new CL into production for me

Here's a thought...Acura is redesigning the NSX to make it much more powerful and much cooler looking. What they should do is keep the current platform, redesign the exterior and sell it for $45k. It'd kill most everything in it's price range. I know I'd hit it! Either that or they need to bring in an AWD RL Coupe based off the upcoming RL platform (re: Legend Coupe).

Coupes/Verts:
New NSX $90K
Old NSX-based Coupe/vert $45K or RL Coupe
TSX-based Coupe $27K
And drop the RSX down to Honda

I personally like the idea of a TSX coupe the best but I'd certainly keep an eye on a $45K NSX based coupe.

However, if they develop a V6 roadster (Acura version of the S2K), then it would have to be mid-engine. A 3.2 or 3.5 front-engine would screw up the superb handling of the S2K. IMHO

acura would clean up in coupe sales if the thing was half decent.

AcuraFan, I wouldn't mind the idea of a TSX coupe. I also wouldn't mind the idea of that rumored car they have over in japan .. the TSX with AWD turbo.

Making a larger S2K for acura with 3.2 or 3.5 mid engine would be an awesome idea...it is pretty clear that whatever 2+2 coupe they bring out next will have to be RWD or AWD to be successful.
