ruh roh! scuffed my intake...

welp, i installed the bypass on my INJEN intake this weekend.

when I did that... it pushed the upper half of the intake up a bit... (see picture to see what im talkin bout)

when I opened my hood today, i noticed that the elbow of the intake is getting scuff marks from hitting the hood.

any ideas on how to move it down .25-.5 inch or so??

the bypass is installed above the extension that bolts to the body. same as chikais...

so uhh... whos got a clue?

Wow.. that's weird. I have the by-pass too and my intake doesn't rub, but the anti-freeze hose is kind of rubbing under the hood. I contacted Injen about this, but I haven't heard back yet . I heard the had a new design where the "nipple" is angled down more, which brings the hoses away from the hood.....

What's all this take about your "hoses" and "nipples" ???

Soop, have you tried to tighten up the connection where the CAI joins the engine.. on the AEM, the tighter I made that connection, the more it pushed my filter towards the ground which should help you out... not sure if you CAI would work the same way...

Good luck

soopa,

I actually had zero problems putting the intake back with the bypass valve. Did you use the 1" paper template that came in the instructions w/ your AEM valve when you cut the tube?

My suggestion is to loosen the red rubber sleeve and the hanger thingy in the middle of the intake. Then try to shift everything forward.

This is the paper template I was talking about:

Mine installed.
