RSX-S...I lost!

Oh well, you can't win them all.

I was minding my business going on Rt. 1 North when I noticed a white RSX-S swerving in and out of traffic ahead of me. So he got stuck at the red light on the left lane with me in the right lane. There were 2 people in my car and in his. By the way his car was rocking back and forth, I knew he had a stick. So I knew that I was gonna lose but I wasn't going down without a fight.

The light turned green and I got a great launch (yea we all know how difficult it is to launch an automatic ). Well I heard him spin his tires but I was gone. Then I could've sworn I heard him chirp second gear. Anyways, I was hauling ass and I was surprised that I took him off the hole and kept it up to about 120+ mph (mostly straightaway and no traffic). He was about a car length behind. Then he slowly caught up to me and started passing me when I hit fourth. Then I slowed down and he put his hazards on. I flashed him to acknowledged it was a great race. We then stopped at the light and I told him to roll his window down. I gave him a thumbs up and so did he. At least I wasn't a sore loser.

Wonder if he had anything under the hood? Are the 6-speed rsx-s that quick? Can I take an auto rsx? Does an rsx-s come in an auto? I have aem cai and ct headers.

Good run man! The rsx-s doesnt come in auto, only manual. Im pretty sure he had to be modded. Could you tell if his car sounded stock? Im pretty sure you would of pulled back after you hit vtec in 4th gear.

a properly driven rsx-s is supposedly as quick as a tl-s. assuming both are stock.

i don't think the rsx-s comes in auto.

I couldn't hear his car after my VTEC came on with the CAI.

I was also wondering if I kept going in 4th and hit VTEC again if I would've eventually pull him back in and beat him?!!!

A well driven stock RSX-S will beat the CL-P/TL-P everytime and will run even with the TL-S/CL-S auto. IMO, the CLS 6mt should take it.

I had a runoff with a modded white RSX-S on Rt 206 (Bridgewater/Raritan) from a stoplight. When we launched, I could hear his intake and exhaust the whole time we ran. @ about 1/4 mile, his front bumper was @ my rear bumper.

I've driven them before and IMO the RSX-S is quicker than the GSR 5sp by far and about as quick as the ITR. Too bad Honda is not importing the DC5R.

What is the hp & torque for the TLP? Isn't it like 220 or something? Even w/ the couple mods you have I'm surprised you did as well as you did. Non-TypeS TL's have never done well against my GTP or my Maxima, I know they're not slow.....but they're nothing more than average compared to any V6 sedan out there. Nice job on keeping up with him.

I didn't know what to expect since I never raced one before. I knew the type-s will win but I wanted to see for myself. Maybe the guy didn't know how to shift or I just reacted quicker cause I held him off til 120+ mph. Or maybe I got a fast TL.

Isnt a race against a TL-P or CL-P vs. an RSX-S still a drivers race?

That's what I thought until I ran into one with a 6-speed.

I can take the auto with ease.

I doubt it cause he pulled on me on top when I should be pulling.

Or he just sucks at shifting.

the '03 CL-S with the 6 speed would eat an RXS lunch.

In short, not much, if it can even pull an RSX-S at all.

If a Ralliart Lancer can run high 14's/low 15's, then I'd imagine so. I have no idea about those cars.
