4 Terminology:
CO = Carbon Monoxide (a poisonous gas),
HC = Hydrocarbons (unburned fuel normally occurring where fuel to oxygen mixture is too rich),
NOx = Nitrous Oxide (cited as a contributor to smog, ozone, acid rain and regional haze and exacerbated by elevated combustion temperatures of "lean burn" engines where more oxygen exists than is needed to completely burn the fuel).
HP = Horsepower.
CO and NOx are typically on opposite ends of the same seesaw. When one goes up the other will come down.
5 Fuel and horsepower tests performed on 1996 Peterbilt truck with Caterpillar C-12 engine. Emission testing performed on Detroit Series 60 and Caterpillar 3176B engines.

i ask because i want to use it in the s2000. i fucked up and put in mobil 1 5w30 only to find out the car calls for 10w30. and since it redlines at 9k(motorcycle on 4 wheels) i went ahead and chaged it to royal purple 10w30. i'll continue to run 5w30 mobil 1 in the cl-s.
guy at the lube place says i can go 6k for every oil change with the purple stuff... i go 5k on mobile 1.
thnx for the replies

ok now check out the redline site,,, they found the same increases,,, why ?? they use a additive of moly that helps for the short term,, high rpm's,, most cars are run long term,,, lab results needed after 5 k miles to check the TBN number,,, the schools tests are consistent with most true synthetics,, they need to test three or four synthetics for a comparison and not to petro oil.
Red line doesn't list it's base stock in the MSD,,, saying it's secret is BS,, this is not a true msd,, they do mention a parfillin (sp),,, they were created by the chemical co when mobile wanted a least expensive PAO,, therfore this might put them in the same league as a base III type of oil, more research is definetly needed by me. (but not now)

Find beauty in dissonance
All syns are good. But, you to keep a good, clean filter, 5k or less.
Proof is in the real world analysis, not advertising.
