rotor/pad install question

I installed the EBC front rotors and pads. They are slotted/dimpled rotors. Anyway, I am still bedding them in. This is my first experience with anything other than flatly surfaced rotors, and my question is I can actually hear the braking of the car right now.

I am still in the bedding process and have been gentle. I feel nothing out of the ordinary through the pedal, and there is no noise when my foot is not pressing the brake pedal. The noise only comes in when pressing the brakes as normal without any grinding, squeaking, etc...But it is clearly a discernable sound as if the coating is rubbing off or something. The were gold plated and now all is gone except about an inch extending from the hat of the rotor...Is this normal with this type of rotor? May I have done something wrong??? Again, still bedding and only 95 miles of driving post install...

Last time I checked EBC didn't have rear slotted dimpled rear rotors for a CL. BTW Pep Boys carrys EBC and Hawk pads and rotors.
