Hey guys i just painted my bumper with the ron jon CL kit. I was wondering are you guys with the same kit getting rock chips on the front lip? How are you preventing it?

 

usually getting rid of it helps a little

 

you can get 3m clear film put over it to protect it. I havnt gotten any chips thru the film yet, just 2 small chips where the film didnt touch.

 

Did you put the film on after the lip was put on? Which film will not turn yellow 3M? What about Xpel? THanks. Can you send me pics of your film on or post it?

I dont have a lip kit on my car but i do have the 3m protection film. Yes i would put in on after you put the lip on but before it gets chipped up. I waited almost 2 months after painting to make sure the paint was fully cured/dried before i had it put on. It shouldnt yellow if you get the quality stuff.

Proper prep and primer helps. I have some spiderweb cracks in mine but thats because of the few times I scraped on a driveway incline.

 

Definitely get the 3M clear vinyl it works great and Ive never seen one yellow. Everything 3M makes is good quality. If your not good with vinyl or your not experienced with it definitely have a shop do it cuz the stuffs kind of expensive and very very easy to screw up especially with all the contours of the lip. It's not as easy as putting vinyl stickers on a flat surface or the protective vinyl on your iphone
