Roadlamps

Has anyone tried or thought about doing the following?

Remove the factory roadlamps. Then create a custom mount or encloser and put some aftermarket fogs in and wire it up to a TL fog switch.

I am thinking about doing this, but wondering how involved it will be and trying to think of how much the cost on this is going to be.

or you could just get your road lamps and plug in some fogs to it... simple as that... open up the bumper, cut teh hole where the road lamp bulbs go in a bit bigger (small rotary tool perhaps?), insert foglights, mount them to inside of the chamber for road lamps, wire it up, turn 'em on

Yea hadn't thought about that. Don't know how to do it myself, so I may need to find a place or friend that can do it.

If I decide to go with the original plan though I was thinking of getting a pair of Piaa's. What do you guys think of these?

this is exactly what i was thinking about but i doubt the stock housing will be able to tolerate the heat of a true foglight....
this is sorta what i was getting at with this post: http://www.acura-cl.com/forums/showt...828#post930828

I installed a pair of Hella Micro DE because of the great light pattern on the road (http://www.hella.com/produktion/Hell...enFogLamps.jsp). I bought them for $99 + 20 s&h. I'll need to find the company if any of u are interested.

I thought about cutting the roadlamps too, but I was more worried about the vibration and weight, not the heat.

I recommend grilling the roadlamp holes too.

I know someone on the board who had the PIAA 1400 custom built into the roadlamps. Can't remember the name. It actually came out really really good. If you get the chrome housing you almost can't tell there's an extra set of fog lights in there.

i'm interested in installing a set of real fog/driving lights also. could someone post pics of their installs? i was trying to install a set of piaa 1000s in the roadlamp opening and the fit was real tight and it didn't look quite right. what i'm really concerend with is the profile of the lights once installed. i don't want them protruding.
