road trip in two days..brakes problems..help please

im goin on a road trip from VT to wilmington, NC on sunday morning and i dont wanna leave town with something going on with the car..heres the problem...

i had all four pads replaced no more than a 1 1/2 months ago and my mechanic (not at the stealership) told me my pads were shot but my calipers are still flawless, no scraping or warping.. so everything should be good with my brakes for awhile...

well today on the way home my "brake" indicator on my gauge bezel went off and flickered from on to off and then back to on and when i turned the car off it was still on.. i checked my brake fluid level and its full so i dont think im in need of brake fluid..but maybe it needs to be replaced????

so its obviously not my brakes themselves setting off the indicator, do i need new fluid? do my brake lines need to be bled? someone help please cuz tomorrow is the last chance i have to get it to the shop

I was going to say maybe warped rotors but after I read your brake light came on sounds like maybe something else.

thats what i figured it might be, cuz im very particular about maintenance on my car so i know my brakes are working fine and they feel fine when i press the brake pedal, so maybe it is a bad sensor of some kind, hopefully for my sake it is cuz i have 2000 miles of driving ahead of me in the next week...

Your hand brake could set off the light. Try pulling the hand brake on and releasing it.

Could also be low on fluid, you can't always tell by looking through the plactic bottle. Did you pull the cap and look or just look from the outside?
