Road Lights Burning out

The Driver side Road light keeps going on my 01 CLS. When I bought it the stocker either blew shortly after or was blown, never paid attention. And so I replaced it with some cheap APC "super whites" which looked like crap but whatever. And the driver side burned out again..

bad luck? or something else?

Something else! My best guess is water may be getting into the light housing, a hot bulb and cold water don't mix. What does the bulb look like?

didnt really look at the first one, second looked fine - just busted filament.
I've got some 19224 bulbs on order so I dont want those going after two days.. I am taking the car in Tonight to get the muffler fixed (sitting high on the right, hitting the body over bumps) so I'll have them take a look at that too.

bulb seemed dry, no condensation in the light unit.

the lamps keep burning out cuz those are map lights, not suppose to be on all thte time. Every CL I see on the road 2001~2002 have a burned out road lamp. best best is get the 03 inserts and take the roadlamp housing out. that what I did

I've had PIAA's in since new...same set, running fine.

I'd say you might have an issue with installation. Make perfectly sure you do not touch the bulds with your bare hands at any point & wipe the bulbs thoroughly with alcohol prior to insertion. Oil on bulbs causes hot spots=dead bulbs.

that could be it, when I put in the PIAA's I'll wear latex gloves or something.
