RL armrest conversion

Has anyone tried to replace the armrest in the CL with the armrest from the 1996-2004 RL? If so, how difficult is it to do?

The RL armrest adjusts upwards a couple of inches at the push of a button. I think that would be a nice feature in the CL.

By the way, I'm new to this forum. I have an 03 TL and my wife has an O1 CL-S.

Thanks!

I have never heard of it done, but it sounds interesting. Be the first.

And welcome.

I'm pretty sure it's too wide to fit between the front seats.

The CL armrest (on the console) does extend if you pull it forward already... I didn't notice that until I had my CL for a couple of months

Might be able to just swap out the top cover but I think it'll look stupid hanging over the sides.

Yeah, I guess my question should have been whether anyone knew if the armrest lid on the RL was the same length/width of the armrest lid on the CL? I was hoping that they had the same dimensions so that I could just unscrew the CL armrest lid and bolt on the RL armrest lid.

NSXNEXT - you seem to think that the RL armrest is too wide - can anyone confirm this? Thanks.

Can't tell you the exact dimensions but I've driven in many RLs and the arm rest is much wider than the CL/TL arm rest.
