Right Rear Link broken

i took my car in for an oil change and to get the warped brake TSB job done. While doing this they found that the right rear link in the suspension was broken and they replaced it under warrenty

my question is what does this mean and how does this happen?
before they replaced the link i did feel the brake padel rattle and vibrate when i depressed the brakes and went over a bump but i didn't know what the problem was

i would appreciate any response thanks peoples

Well, our suspensions is a 5 link, double wish bone suspesion. Braking 1 of the link (don't konw the the HELL you did that?!?!) meaning you still have 4 link that holds your wheel to the car. The 5 links are made to create a independency...giving you a smoother ride. What 1 link "feels" might not what the other linkes "feel"...give you a independency. There are 3 links on the lower half of the wheel, and 2 links on the upper half of the wheel, depend on which one broke, you can have alignment problem, or the camber might be off.

I think you would get brake rattle, but i don't think you would get a lot of vibration since it was the rear. These links are about 3/4 inch dia. bars...so i dont konw how you broke it....maybe you drove over a HUGE pothole, dip, speed bump at high speeds.
