resale value after accident

Does it really decrease your resale value if your car was in accident, but was perferctly restored back?
If the resale value does go down, by how much?

Yes, generally a dealer will look at the body panels to make sure they are original, there are Serial Numbers on original panels and "R" on replaced panels for "repair", so they know and will deduct value forthwith.

In a private sale, someone can ask you if it's been wrecked, you don't have to tell them the truth.

Any specialist can tell if some parts are not original.... but its really messed up. My car was in accident, but it was restored back to perfect. They got brand new OEM hood and bumper, looks like new car again. I might have to drive it for a long time rather than be scammed by a dealer.

The parts that came on the car from the factory have a tag with the VIN on them. Take a look inside the hood or trunk and you will see them on the fenders, hood, etc. These tags will not be on replacement parts, OEM or other. If there is a tag with a different VIN then the part came from a junk yard.

They can only sue you for fraud if the owner had signed notarized paper decalring that there were no accidents. Otherwise its all verbal BS.
