RES update
RES update
To start with, the first casting had some "migration" problems and would not fit (too tight) the IMRC Butterfly flange consistently. This would result in many of you opting to use a hammer to get the bolted flange to seat on the manifold..a NO NO!!!
The fix is an insert in this area of the casting that is carried by the mold prior to the pour....this is less expensive than additional CNC time to measure/cut this area of the casting. This part has been poured and is awaiting my inspection (12/1) and if all is well, a batch production run will start....which means parts soon (but colors will add to the time)
The field test parts sent to some of you via Tim will not be in color to expedite the eval process. Once Tim and I have the warm and fuzzy that the part performs as stated and the quality is #1, then the release of a bulk order to ACP will happen immediately !!
Hope this helps.
I've been dealing with some other new gadgets to pass the time and a Dyno will be posting soon, I think you will like this one. It's half the cost and has delivered similar power as RES on the J32A2.
Thats all for now.

Oh man. ANOTHER mystery mod. *gets doctor to prescribe that drug thing*
So another mod, that's even cheaper that offers RES gains in performance?
What is the overall gain if you have RES and this NEW mystery mod?
$300 + $150 = $450. What kinda performance do I get for both ($450)?

Hope to see this first part of 2002 for myself as well. Should make nice power with all my other mods.

He said that the j30 res was going to come out in december for testing I believe, and since the j32 part was suppose to come out in early nov, I don't see the j30 part coming until early next year.
Syncivic: Thanks for the update! I hope everything is going well in the production phases and hope the see the finished product for sale soon!
I still am very interested in being a tester for the j30 part on a 98 CL 3.0, keep me in mind!

Hey - maybe the RES will be standard on 2003 CLS 6-speed coming from Acura :P ha - right
I certainly hope to have my RES in a box waiting to mate it with my new 6-speed if all the chips fall in to place ...

I guess, the Acura 3.2 Engine designer would have to say:" Oh! Why I did not think of that!", The engine output could have jumped to at leasr 280HP and claimed the most powerfull 3.2L engine in the world!!
