Zapta: it would be #5 isolating the intake from the block.

I have in mind making a custom connecting pipes (like those on the headers) to connect the 6 holes ( 3 round and 3 square) on each side to a special collector that mates to the intake openning.

See, that's the thing. The guy that did the CAD drawings for me isn't willing to fork out the money to get the part made. I just paid him to design it. From there we were going to actually have the part made. I just don't have the time or interest to get this done. Especially considering that I don't have a cls any longer. It would be a waste of time for me. I'm sure that he'd want a pretty penny for the design though. Probably upwards of $1,000 for the design, which is honestly pretty cheap considering how much he usually gets paid to design parts. I was looking at investing at least 10k just to get this made initially.

If there are enough buyers, looking at around 50's ...

I can get it made in China, for cheaper production cost.

It can be done with Alluminum or maybe Titanium(might cost too much) .

However I still need the CAD drawings , so that it can be places into the mold machine and lazer cut the mold piece.

IF I had a CAD drawing of the res I could get any number of them machined for relatively cheap. You wouldn't need to fork out 50 K you could have ONE made, slap it on a stock CL/CLS/TL/TLS and take it to the dyno. If the dyno proved that it made more horsepower than stock then its a go! From there 1 could be made or 10,000 could be made. Of course the higher the quantity the lower the cost per part.

blxmjx,
Did the guy make it for you without you paying him first?? Do you think he made one that produced more power than stock?
