Reputation and revenge

So a couple of months ago, I decided to stop screwing around and start shopping for one of a very few cars that really ever twisted my “car lust” nerve, something that I could live with on daily basis for a few years. The top of my list was a 89-94 300zx turbo. Not many to be had with anything less than 80K miles. Not far from the top was a CLS-MT. Having owned a Del Sol DOHC-VTEC a few years back, I loved the way the VTEC valve gear worked. The concept of a refined, conservatively styled, limited production coupe with a rowdy motor lurking under the hood was just the ticket. About a month later, a silver CLS-MT was parked in the garage.

As I drove it home from Las Vegas, some wanker in a 3 series BMW comes up behind me and flashes me out of the fast lane. A quick 2 gear downshift and a right foot flat to the floor makes his headlights get smaller in the mirror. Gotta love this motor…

In the few weeks I’ve owned this car I’ve noticed a pattern emerging. For some reason just about every rank hot shoe in a Mazda 3/6, slammed Nissan or Toyota and the occasional 3/5 series Beemer wants to have a race! It’s mostly entertaining to watch them slide backwards when the CLS uncorks itself but I figure someone on this group must have spanked a bunch of these clowns and now, every CLS they see is a target for revenge. It's kind of like a small ugly dog that got kicked by a postman a little to often and now tries to bite everyone in a unform on the ankle.

So can you guys please just knock it off? If those of you who are responsible for kicking the crap out of these guys would loose one or two stop light drags then, just maybe, all this nonsense would stop. All I want to do is peacefully drive this fine set of wheels, enjoying the sound that waifs from under the hood when the right foot finds the floorboard and not have to defend this car's reputation….. Jeez.

3Gs is nothing... haha I spent that much this week and I've been modding my CL-S for a year now.

Sounds like you have no problems getting a race.

Keep it safe.

MRsteve.. exactly the point made earlier..

watching u guys mod.. im still a noob at it.. but to me 3G's is alot ..

phipark.. its approximation.. for me..

my booming sound system(head unit, all around speakers, 2-12's, 2 amps + install) 1k
my HID's + intake + muffler 1k

its about 3k, maybe slightly less .. takes me couple months to save up 1k to something nice...

super chargers on ur CL-S' thats friggen insane amount of $ for me.. might as well buy a used car =p

and theres so much more to do.. im just trying to hang with you fellas!..
