Replacing headlights

Hey guys, I need some help switching my '01 to '03 headlights. Thanks to soopa and fuzzy for the DIY for removing the bumper. It took me about 20 minutes to remove by myself. My '03 lights are without the bulbs and wiring, basically just holes. Is there a DIY on site that goes over removing and installed the bulbs, harnesses and wiring?? There was even the main bulb harness that said 'danger high voltage'. Do I need to disconnect the battery to switch all this out??

Disconnect the battery so you don't shock yourself. Everything else should be easy to do.

Hey Trey, you'll need a Torx T-25 screw to take out the bulb and a screwdriver. You can get that at autozone. If you're close by, I wouldn't mind stopping by and helping you out.

We actually used a tiny flathead, the d/s didn't even have the torx screw in it!

i'm not sure if you used acuraoemparts.com, but that seems to have the best prices.

I had a Torx bit laying around so I never tried the flathead. Will do that next time

OK, here are the pics

here's an after shot, looking pretty good at this distance

here's the passenger side, fit like a glove

here's the driver side, had a little trouble because of the previous owners wreck. Could not get the side tab bolted in. Hopefully the side of the bumper will keep it in place

a shot with the lights on (sorry about the bumper holes..)

one last shot, looks like a totally different car, but I'm thinking about getting rid of the road lamps and it will look a hell of a lot better when I get the Taffeta grille surround

Thanks again for the help 02cls!!

We may need to get used to it. This is a discontinued model after all.

BTW...headlights look great.

you shouldnt take out your roadlamps but just tint them black and change the bulbs, thats what I would do if mine came with roadlamps

Do you mean acuraoemparts? I contact them and since they are Delray Acura, they gave me the same answer. Is there someone else?

try this page out. just enter the 2003 year. it doesn't matter what trim or transmission you pick. then find the color to match your body paint.
