Replaced ECU with Tranny?

Why would Acura replace the ECU when they replaced my transmission?

detune baby!

My car deifnetly feels slower. And it shifts at 6500 now in D5 at WOT. I'm going to run my g-tech sometime this week. I bet I'm 10-15whp down.

I too got the new transmission special. Rebuilt tranny plus new ECU. I don't notice any differences from before. I would say my 1-2 shift is actually better now as it used to shift at like 6700 RPM now it shifts right at or after 7000 RPM when I floor it.

I was told that the new ECU shifts earlier than the previous ECUs. I haven't actually paid much attention, as #3 feels ablout like #1 and #2 and I'm gateshifting if I'm gonna stomp on it.

Wierd, all different results... Oh well. Just as long as everyone is happy

I ran the gtech today. So far I'm .3-.4 slower. However its also 20 degrees warmer. Lasts tests were 50deg 50% humidity. Today 72 degrees, 50 % humidity.

I'll test again later this week when the temp drops.

Well, I'm happy as long as the new tranny lasts a LONG time. I'm pretty easy on my car and only push from time to time. I was very disappointed that the tranny couldn't handle it.

When you have your auto tranny replaced, instruct the dealership to return the old ECU to you. Its your property. I don't know if these items just plug in or not. If they do then just replace with the old one.

From a power sand point, it feels the same but I have noticed that the sport shifts are faster and the grade logic seems to kick in sooner

unplug your battery for 3-4 hrs, then replug it and immedietly take it onto a parkway where you can open her up. Pin it for a while and drive hard then go straight home and shut down. You will feel a litle engine shudder at idle and this is normal, it will go ,away in a day or so. The next day you will notice the car get more aggressive with the exhaust note and acceleration as well as shifting points. don't forget the navi and radio codes. This is guarenteed to work if done correctly, i had the slowest car after the tranny replacement, then i did this and it was back to normal.
