removing trunk panel
Does anyone know how to remove the felt trunk panel on the left side? I just got a small ding between the gas cap and the tailight (its so small you can only see it at an angle). I think I can pound it out with my friends rubber hammer. Since so many of you guys alter the trunk for electronic purposes i'e sub's, amps, etc...i was wondering if anyone had any pointers. Thanks.

ever think of going to a ding removal place. i hate dings too but i'd rather spend $50-$80 to have it done profesionally than trying to hammer it out myself and not be happy with the results. you could also try the "dry ice" method. i heard if you rub some dry ice on a ding, it pops out.

the ding place i know charges minimum $100 no matter how small it is, i cant keep shelling out that cash for each small ding, and believe me this one is barely noticable. has anyone ever tried the dried ice thing?

Never tried dry ice. I would not use a rubber mallet for a panel ding. You are guaranteed to make it worse. I say forget about it, you'll get more. Save up and have them do them all at once.
Keep in mind, paintless dent removal involved heat. The tools they use and the way they rub against the body panel impart heat on the area, allowing it to repair itself without cracking the paint.
