Removing Scratches on Navi Screen

I've got 1 hairline scratch on my navi screen that i'd like to get rid of. Its not deep in that fact that if you run your nail across it you can feel it. However I'm wondering if this or a product like it would do the trick:

Any thoughts?

I don't have Navi, so is the Navi screen coated plastic or glass?

I have used these kinds of plastic polishers on CD/DVDs, my PDA and my iPod all with great results.

But if the touchscreen on the CL NAVI display is glass, these polishers probably won't help. A PDA's touchscreen is glass, but with a plastic overlay.

No its a plastic screen. No glass.

I'm worried a about losing the touch screen ability in that area if i use this.

Like i said its nothing major so i may just learn to live with it. Ya can only see it when the screen is off and the sun is hitting it.

TEST TEST TEST first!

I would use something like Meguiar's PlastiX or something from a company I know of and trust. I would test it on plexiglas or plastic sunglasses first to see if it works well.

You won't lose the touchscreen ability just by polishing it.

Good advice. I'm definitely gonna look into this now.

Thanks for your help.

My vote is don't touch it! The screen is intentionally a rough plastic so finger prints don't show. The only thing that will probably happen is you will make it smoother or rougher in that spot, causing a mis-match in the over-all appearance.

This was something I was unaware of also....

I also suggest you do not touch the screen and leave it like it is. You don't want to turn a small problem into a large one. I would learn to ignore it. Which of course too hard to do now.

My other suggestion is that if it still bothers you, remove the entire navigation system and send it down to me. I will, in return, send you at no cost, a larger, easier to read and control climate control panel, and you won't have to look at that nasty scratch anymore.

Good luck!
