Removing resonator

Has anyone ever removed the resonator from the stock exhaust system? How does it sound?

like shit!!! it makes the most horrible raspy sound. i had mine off for a few days before i got my comptechs, and it was horrible! then i got my comptechs, and it was the most perfect low bass sound, but kinda loud -ish. so i put the resonator back on, and now my comptechs are perfect.

trust me, do NOT take off the resonator on the stock system unless you want the most horrible of raspy sounds to come farting out of the exhaust

Thanks for the info Jeff. I really want the exhaust to sound really deep but not have the droning. If you guys have heard a Supersprint exhaust on a 3-series, that's what I want. It sounds almost like stock but with a much deeper tone and you can still notice the difference from stock.
